“While the kids are going hungry without anything to eat, mom is throwing what welfare money she gets into her drug habit.”
Or mom is having her nails done or getting weave.
Absolutely no doubt you are correct. The welfare money is then discounted to retailers with accounts to convert it to cash and guess who they are? In Cincinnati, actually my work neighborhood, they are the Arab vermin sending money back to the middle east.
How are you blaming the cop? The McDonald’s manager called the police to remove a trespasser.
I remember a news story in Asheville a few yteasrs ago about the homeless. One man said he could sometimes make $400 a day. Not a bad gig.
He has a history. Plus, If one hasn’t been around a number of actual homeless, then one has no idea of how bad they can reek if they do’t bath - can get so ripe that nobody around would be able to eat a bite.....don’t know if this was so for this guy but it would kill a business to let them hang around inside.
Yeah in some areas beggers play the system well. I remeber in down town Palo Alto passing a guy who begs everyday on my way to walking to work. Went early one morning and saw him having a coffee at an expensuve little breakfast place, by himself looking used to it. Made me more particular about spotting people in real need rather than those who make it a living. I will usually give food to somebody who obviuosly is hungry and needs help but who is not asking for help. Sometimes I will sit outside and talk with them. The professional beggers dont want that, but the broken lonely bungry people eho just cant quite make it in society are just thankful for company. A lot of them seem mentally handicapped to the point its hard to imagine them holding dowm a job, and they arent even good at begging.
If people have to run a gauntlet of beggars to buy lunch they will go someplace else. That’s why it’s not a “win-win” for the business.
The story was that the homeless guy was invited in by someone who paid for his meal. The manager for some reason didn’t like that and called the cops.
The story was that the homeless guy was invited in by someone who paid for his meal. The manager for some reason didn’t like that and called the cops. Also the complaint was about a panhandler IN the parking lot, not in the store.
“The local McDonald’s operator, Joel Pellicci Jr., released a statement to The Sun News.
At my restaurant, the goal is to provide our customers with a positive and welcoming experience each time they visit. Unfortunately, the individual in this video has a history
of disruptive behavior and has been asked to leave by management and police on several occasions. As the homeless man was being ordered off the premises, Gallo tried to intervene on his behalf.”
I just hope a gay couple doesn’t ask McDonald’s to cater their wedding.
Managers don’t like it when some aggressive panhandler repeatedly harasses and intimidates their customers. While that may not be the case, it’s certainly a possibility. None of us commenting on this thread know the shop’s prior history dealing with this guy.
When I am in California, I always try to have one breakfast or lunch at a particular favorite restaurant. The owner only serves breakfast and lunch. She’s a great lady.
Years ago, she had started to take food to a gathering of homeless people in town, as a place they often gathered.
The town came down on her and told her to stop it, or they’d cite her (with some local ordinance).
She responded by setting up her own programs to help the homeless, including programs her restaurant customers can directly participate in. Initially she even fed homeless persons right at her restaurant. Some of her programs are as simple as taking just one slice of toast for an order that normally gets two, and the savings in costs goes directly to her charity works - it even has its place on the menu so it will be ordered that way and accounted for.
She’s very successful, as a business person and as a caring person.
I hate panhandlers but I realize they serve a noble purpose; reminding us of how fortunate we are.
Agree.
The moment that they sold him food they vacated any trespass order.
Possibly — Did they knowingly sell the food to him or to the guy who bought it for him? Too many unanswered questions.
Either he brought it or he was a guest accompanying a paying customer, he didn’t hide or disguise himself that is clear from the video doesn’t mater either way the moment the transaction was completed they vacated any trespass order.
Funny there is nothing in the video that proves or provides any evidence that there was such and order, but so many take it that there is or was, but when I provide a valid counter argument, suddenly there’s to many unanswered questions.
I understand you don’t like the guy, you don’t like his type and such people have caused you problems in the past but right is right especially for people you don’t like otherwise the rule of law soon breaks down and no one has an rights.
