GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) Greenville police have made an arrest in connection with gunfire Friday night at an AMC Theater.
Police say 30-year-old Shameeka Latrice Lynch of Tarboro surrendered at the Pitt County Detention Center Saturday evening.
Lynch is charged with one count of discharging a firearm in an enclosure to incite fear and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill.
Lynch is currently at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.
Greenville Police Chief Mark Holtzman said they received reports of an active shooter at the AMC Theater on Firetower Road around 11:45 p.m. Friday. Within minutes, officers arrived and entered the theater.
Holtzman said a dispute over seating arrangements appears to have led up to the shooting.
That dispute quickly turned into a pistol being pulled out and at least one shot being fired off into the ceiling, Holtzman said.
The shooting took place in theater two. Ryan Query and his wife were just four theaters down at the time watching Black Panther. He said armed officers entered the theater and informed them they needed to evacuate.
About every 5 steps there was an officer with an assault rifle and fully armored, Query said.

Greenville police made the arrest with the assistance of the FBI and NCSBI Fugitive Task Force.
Greenville police said Cherry is believed to be the individual who fired the gun.
Witnesses told police the shooting stemmed from an altercation between Cherry and several other people over reserved seating.
No one was injured.
Detectives have obtained warrants charging Cherry with discharging a firearm in an enclosure to incite fear, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by felon.
He is being interviewed by detectives and will be booked into the Pitt County Detention Center later Monday evening.

That’s how they do it in Wakanda.
All ‘Rats need to be disarmed.
I’d guess that would solve 99% of the gunz “problem”.
Last movie I saw in a theater was Team America, in 2004.
Did the theater have a no guns sign?

I’d like to thank all of the black mothers who give their children names that make it unnecessary for pictures to know the perpetrator is black.
So she's Irish?
Now, Shameeka wants a refund for the movie ticket, plus an apology from Management.
She claims she never did see the whole movie, just 45 minutes of commercials and previews. “That just ain’t right!!”///
It was bound to happen sooner or later.
To be fair, there was a lot of gunfire at many a The Sound of Music screening. /s
Ill have to look and see if anyone has pics of that.
A felon with a gun? Wait!!! There are laws against that! Didn’t he know it was illegal for him to have a gun??? This criminal didn’t obey the gun laws? You have to be kidding me!!!
And this is why we will rent the movie and watch from the safety of our family room.
Those darn Amish again!!
Are these seats taken or am I gonna have to bust a cap in yo azz ?
