FULL TITLE: Son, 61, of billionaire Little Caesars pizza founder found dead surrounded by drugs in Michigan hotel room

The son of the billionaire Little Caesars founder and owner of both the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers, has been found dead surrounded by drugs in a hotel room.

Ronald Ilitch, 61, was found dead on the floor of his Marriott Hotel room in Troy, Michigan, on Friday afternoon, MLive.com reports.

He should have been out selling those crappy pizzas

Crap never sells nor does it create billionaires......You might want to show compassion rather than ignorance. This IS a Christian based website isn't it?

Want to read a real sad story search Leo Goodwin III.

His grandfather started GEICO.
He overdosed in Lauderdale.
Yeas before that he too totaled a Ferrari and killed a high schooler in a drug induced MV crash.
I met him putting in a few phone lines in the mansion on the intercostal.
The place had a pool that was inside the home and extended outside the home.
Got invited to a few parties on the property. Live bands dancers, booze and drugs.
Never once ran into an adult.
I was 25 or so had a good time

Hers a bit of that history:

Most offspring of those incredibly successful rich people usually end up dead,in jail or straddling in between. Money is a curse if it takes hold of the core of a person.

Their pizza isn’t bad. Nothing to write home about, but they use fresh dough, fresh mozzarella and munster cheese, and bake it fresh. If course you can get a better pizza for three times the price, but it’s good for something quick and cheap. Add a good soup or salad and you’ve got a decent meal.

Like most pizzas it’s better if you reheat it in a toaster oven to get the bottom crispy.

I often think the worst thing you can do to your kids is leave them a fortune. I’ve seen so many rich kids end up in similar circumstances. They never had any missteps allowed to build character, got bailed out of everything, and had plenty of cash whether they earned it, saved it, or pissed it away like a fool.

Same with celebrities. Full life and filthy rich and they turn to drugs. Makes no sense.

“Someone is cutting drugs with Fentenyl.”

We can probably expect a lot more drug overdoses then.

Does that include medical and psychiatric professionals who prescribe legal poisons that lead to addiction?

If they can't be bothered to monitor the individuals to whom they prescribe it and counter potential addiction, because MONEY, you bet!

Does that include pharmaceutical companies that glamorized their poisons and gave those prescribing them financial incentives to do so?

If cause and effect and disregard can be proven, works for me!

One thing I learned early on by working for a family business, is that few businesses are successfully passed on to next generation. The founders manage to stay on until they die and their children seldom have the desire, skills, or knowledge of the founder to carry on with the family business. There are exceptions but it easier for the children to take the money and sell the business to new owner(s).

At 61 and with his wealth secured (he probably didn’t need to work), the son should have been thinking about his retirement.

Anyway, down here in Texas we can make a cheap pizza very quickly by scrounging through the fridge for leftovers - toppings, spagetti sauce, cheese, seasoning, and a flour tortilla. Tastes better or worse than Little Caesars depending on what’s available and still edible and how urgently you need a pizza fix.

Keep an ear out and/or google search past drug deaths with Fentenyl. . You’ll see a link to fentenyl in most of them. Percocet are not killing people. They may get addicted to opioids thru pain Meds. But, the deaths are coming from Fentenyl.

Hotshot? It's unusual for someone 61 yo and wealthy to overdose after being an addict for years.

One step would diminish it a great deal: execute drug dealers, from street level to kingpin. No plea bargains, no deals.

They execute each other much faster than the Fourth Amendment would let us do - but new ones keep springing up, because drug criminalization makes the money too good for many to resist.

My takeaway from this thread is that I am, it turns out, a pizza snob. I will eat dominos, papa john's, or Little Caesars and like them okay. Because how can you really mess up pizza? But in my area I can go to a local pizza place and get a fantastic pizza for the same price as dominos or papa john's. Little Caesar's is an exception because their prices are lower (by a lot) so I mostly see it at kids birthday parties where people want lots of pizza for cheap. College kids and lower income folk probably like that aspect too. Anyway it's not bad, maybe "crappy" was a bad word. But "okay" is probably as far as I'd go with it.

But that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. We don't all have to like the same stuff.
