Remember This Week: It’s the Beginning of the End of the NRA’s Reign of Terror (super-barf)
Daily Beast ^ | 2/24/18 | Reid

Shun the NRA. Shun the assault weapons manufacturers. Shame and vote out the politicians who take their money and do their bidding. That’s the strategy that activists for firearms sanity have finally seized on, after decades of losing to the most bloodthirsty lobby in America.

The rise of the Parkland students, and their #NeverAgain movement following the slaughter of 17 of their classmates and teachers by a 19-year-old former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County Florida, presents the most existential threat to the gun lobby in my lifetime. These kids, aged 15 to 18, have spoken more clearly, more forcefully, and more effectively than any activists or politicians, who for decades have pleaded for laws prohibiting the amassing of personal military-style arsenals by American gun fetishists.

What these young people have is special.

What these younge people have, if you can call it “special” is a willingness to be exploited by the msm/dnc.

What these young people have is special.......”

Certainly is. They have a lifetime of memories about ‘what they MIGHT have done’ regarding their school mate.

My Dad owned guns before any of us 4 were born. I don’t think he was any different than MILLIONS of other gun owners in the USA, then or now.

A mentally deranged person could have used bombs, lethal gas, and lots of other things if guns were not available to them.

The knee jerk reaction from all those who don’t wish to personally own a gun are beyond the pale.

IF YOU do not wish to have a gun-—so be it. But YOU have no right to apply that same ‘wish’ to me or others who have never caused anyone any trouble.

You want to be a vegan? Fine-—only do NOT tell me what I can eat.

Do NOT tell me what kind of vehicle I can drive.

Do NOT tell me where I can live or not live.

I am able to make MY OWN decisions. I do not need a Liberal surrogate to make such decisions for me.

Shun assault weapons manufacturers? Nah, I just ordered two new ones, for my 10 year old boys to use when we go to the desert to shoot. And NRA, I am a life member. And I vote. Bet that is the trifecta to cause them a serious meltdown.

The problem is not “illegal” guns. It’s the ones that are perfectly lawful to obtain. And by the way, mass shootings represent a fraction of the overall gun deaths that are unique to America, which lost more than 1.5 million lives to gun homicides and suicides between 1968 and 2015 – more than have perished in all the wars America has been involved in combined.

Reid's screed is full of asinine statistics, but this one takes the cake. America has been around for roughly 250 years. Her roughly 50 year statistic assumes there would be zero or few gun homicides and suicides if there were no guns. Actually, zero is correct with the qualifier gun homicides are used. So to balance that out, you would have to remove all the gun deaths from all the wars which America has been involved in, which would still leave the majority of them before World War I. We could continue this moronic exercise forever.

Or Reid could just move to a gun free paradise like say, Jamaica, where only the cops, military and criminals have guns. How do you suppose their murder rate compares to America? Hell, even compare their gun murder rate for some eye-popping statistics on the effectiveness of the draconian type of laws she is advocating.

I don’t think these power-hungry thugs understand just how ugly life could get within days after they get their wish. A gun ban is not going to lead to us all holding hands, real Americans hugging illegals, while we join in singing their favorite protest song. Within days, at most, their gun grab will turn into the nightmare that decent people have worked for 152 years ago to avoid repeating.

Mmmmm... no.

The NRA did not do this to the "rising Parkland students."

The manufacturers of firearms and ammunition did not do this to the "rising Parkland students."

The "gun lobby" did not do this to the "rising Parkland students."

"Old white men" did not do this to the "rising Parkland students."

The Republican party did not do this to the "rising Parkland students."

The Second Amendment did not do this to the "rising Parkland students."

One of their own did this to the "rising Parkland students."

One of their own that they sat in classrooms with.

One of their own that they walked the halls with.

One of their own that they ate together in the lunch room with.

One of their own "rising Parkland students."

Time for the NRA to run some positive ads:
This is who we are......
This is what we teach.......
This is what we support and why.....
Here are school safety measures we support and why...

I’d even take it a step further, relating NRA political contributions to unions, deaths by objects other than guns, the need to recognize behavior rather than blaming an object, positive uses of guns, and others. Regarding recent boycotts by related businesses, I’d ask if rental car companies do a background check for prior DUI convictions, how many of their cars are in accidents, how many suits have been made against them, etc. Do we need to regulate car companies now?

There are several companies ending their relationship with the NRA. The only one I have been able to fine an email address for is Simplisafe....I ripped off a message to them telling them I don't do business with gun grabbers. Here's their address...please take the time to tell them how you feel.

A growing number of companies are capitulating to the SJW pressure and severing any ties to the NRA. We must fight back and let them know it will cost them more to bow to the Rats.

If there’s anything the Broward school massacre revealed it wasn’t insufficient “gun control.” It was the abject failure of law enforcement at every level.

Too bad the Dems did not get as outraged by America’s enemies as they do at Americans.

I wish liberals would tell us which other law(s) they would like to base new gun control laws on. When did government last pass a law that did what the democrats “expected” or even that helped more people than it hurt?

Banking laws? Obamacare? Existing gun control laws? Civil rights laws? Title IX? Sanctuary cities?

According to liberals, blacks and women are worse off than 50 years ago. So their biggest “solutions” don’t seem to have worked.

They say banking and Obamacare laws “didn’t work because of republicans” - but those laws were passed by liberals without republican support. Why aren’t those laws working as expected? Law-abiding people find loopholes and workarounds. Never mind what criminals care about these laws.

Sanctuary cities result in more “non-criminal” illegals being deported because ICE goes to criminal’s work or home (where other illegals are) rather than jails (which other illegals avoid).

Welfare and education laws and programs “just need more money”. But there will never be enough if the past is any indication. And even if fraud in these programs is only 1% as they claim, only 0.00001% of the population that commits random mass murder. Show us they can reduce fraud in other programs under 0.00001% and they may have an example that can stop a mass murderer every now and then.

We can list almost everything dems have supported locally, statewide, or federally for the last 50 years and I can’t think of a single one that did what it was supposed to. Even if it were true that it’s always the republican’s fault these laws didn’t work, why would they expect a liberal gun control law would work now? They should have learned that republicans always stop their “good laws” from “working”. This is all about feeling good for doing something, not actually making a difference.

New government laws have not protected the average citizen for a long time. Rights protected by the NRA are used for self-defense almost daily.
