This world wide web thingy concerns me.
My Gopher program seems buggy.
1. Robots
2. Robots
The new 5G network
Excites me - driverless cars and full body scans that detect disease including cancer.
Scares me - nothing technologically. Everything has been great so far and I dont see that changing.
Our debt scares me most!!!!
Possible advances against cancer and other disease excites me - not much scares me except what they might do to the human gene systems - if they can find a way to cure folks using their own bodies, they can come up with a way to kill us all off too.
Nanocrystal technology - wireless electricity - is exciting.
I want a 3-D printer.
Excites... Super AI
Scares... Super AI
AI for blondes.
It all excites me, but I really cringe at how big business is going to interact with it’s workers. Constant and real-time monitoring, etc.
Autonomous killer drones
3D printing.
Vertical Farming.
Cheap Clean Energy
Cheap Space Access.
Excites innovations for excellent purposes
Scaresinnovations for evil purposes
PS. Cars that fly and driven/flown by drunk illegals. lol
See the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror on Netflix..
The master algorithm scares me. A generalized program that can learn. There are algorithms that learned to play chess based on the rules and being unfettered by history played chess at a master level using strategies that were not used before. Robots are not the scary thing. It is algorithms that are lawyers doctors, engineers computer programmers.
It is not the driver less car but the coding that is learning how to drive the car that is scary.
There are several strategies being used to develop the algorithm they may all succeed in there own way.
The Chinese are investing in the in a big way.
Self driving cars.
VR and it’s cousin AR.
More and more people totally becoming inward and self gratifying.
Not to mention more and more people addicted to devices.
You know you are not in control if you can’t put down your devices for several days.
SunCell generator technology by Brilliant Light Power will change the world as we know it... clean, cheap, limitless energy brought to you by genius inventor Randell Mills will profoundly affect life on planet Earth.
I’m 70, so self-driving cars seem good to me for short trips around town. It would’ve seemed like a stupid idea to me 5 or 10 years ago, but now... not so much.
