Liberalism is a mental disorder. You cannot reason with the afflicted.
The only way to get through to these deranged people, is through blunt force application of Reality.
Just ask them what law could prevent a mass shooting from happening. They can’t answer that. The typical response always ends up with banning guns. My response is then “Great idea, that worked really well for heroin.” They hate being mocked when they think they are so smart.
I usually follow up about the folly of trying to control an object rather than criminal behavior.
