- 16. Pick your favorite Wi-Fi networks
- When you connect to a Wi-Fi network, macOS remembers it so you can join it more easily in the future. However, when you rely on a laptop, you can amass a lengthy list of saved networks, which makes it more difficult to find the one you need. Instead, tweak the settings to push your favorite networks to the top of the pile and forget the ones you'll never visit again. In System Preferences, click Network and then choose Advanced to edit the list of networks.
Does this require loging in as Admin?
I just got a MacBook Pro. Its amazing how little I know about it..
I've had my MacBook Pro Touch for 9 months and I still know little about it, lol!
Surprised me when I put a bottlecap in front of the keyboard near the trackpad and it stuck. There are magnets left and right that secure the lid when closed. But they're convenient for holding magnetic objects while you're using the Mac.
I bought a Charjenpro USB-C hub for $80 for connecting accessories, is compact and works great with USB3 and micro-sd cards, and a USB to HDMI 4K cable for secondary display on large screens, highly recommend these for movie watching while working on main screen. One negative is that I often accidentally hit the Siri key when trying to delete or mute, and these tips here will help me mute the Siri audio when not wanted.
Thanks! I did not know about #2. I often click on the “Reader” view in IOS Safari, but did not know about this feature. I just tried this out on American Thinker and it looks very promising. The nice thing is you don’t need this on FR — it’s still blissfully ad free.
BTW, the instructions in the article are wrong. The correct way to get to this option (at least in 11.0.3) is to go to Preferences / Select tab “Websites” / Select “Reader” at the top of the list on the left.
2. Simplify your view of the internet
The Safari web browser can hide ads and other distractions to let you focus on the a given page’s text. To permanently enable this minimal-view Reader Mode, start by opening the browser. Next, click the Safari menu (in the bar at the top of the screen) and choose Preferences. From this window, open the Reader tab, find the When visiting other websites drop-down list, and select On.

I just got one too! Enjoying it, but had to install Windows on it so I could have my Quickbooks.
