I bought a bluetooth OBD2 (Onboard Diagnostics V2) scanner for a few bucks that works with my Android tablet. It comes in handy to find out why your check engine light is on and to clear/reset the ECM. Saves you a trip to O'Reilly's, even though they do it for free.

I knew autozone did it for free - glad to know OReilly also does it for free. The local shop wants only $80. Why get it for free when I can pay $80. /s

Where do you get the software to go with it?

#14 I have one myself and use the BlueDriver app and OBD device which costs $99. It told me my car would pass the smog test and when I had it done it did pass : )

I also use another OBD device similiar to this https://tinyurl.com/y8accjsu and use a free app called Torque.
Mine uses bluetooth connection.
