Seriously, this is the kind of extreme depravity that ought to qualify for a death penalty even if the perp didn’t “premeditate” killing her..... he certainly acted with such wild, beastly depravity and disregard for her survival that she died. Knowingly raping someone suffering a drug overdose, knowing that she was dying/dead, and stuffing the body away for disposal.... I realize that is not the usual “1st degree murder” but there ought to be a category for “death penalty due to extreme inhuman depravity” or something like that....
Gov. Inslee of Washington state is trying to do away with the death penalty there and has announced a moratorium (he won’t authorize any death penalty even if the penalty is legally imposed by a court), so it wouldn’t matter right now even if this were “1st degree murder” — the perp still couldn’t be put down as he deserves.
