'Let's Get Rid of Him': Chaffetz Says Sessions Is 'Worthless Attorney General'
Fox News ^ | February 9, 2018 | Insider

On "Outnumbered" on Friday, Fox News contributor and former Utah congressman Jason Chaffetz slammed Attorney General Jeff Sessions and said it's time to "get rid of him."

Some lawmakers in recent weeks have called for Sessions to resign, criticizing his Justice Department for not cooperating with Congress and for leaks related to the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Sessions recused himself from the FBI's Russia probe in early March after acknowledging that he had had two previously undisclosed encounters with the Russian ambassador during Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. He said it would be improper for him to oversee a probe into a campaign for which he was a vocal and prominent supporter.

That eventually led to the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which infuriated President Trump.

"He's conflicted himself out of his this," Chaffetz said. "He should resign or step down or the president should fire him. He's a worthless attorney general. ... Let's get rid of him. Have a real attorney general."

Senators are used to doing nothing. A hotshot lawyer or similar would already have charges on a number of things, trying to make a name for himself. NO work ethic is needed to be a Senator.

Rumor has it that the reason Gowdy is not running for reelection is that he will be moving into Session’s spot.

Let’s reverse things. If these were Republicans and Holder was AG, would there be charges, and daily shots of him on the news?

Enforcing the law and prosecuting crimes is FAR more important than any kind of political nudge-and-wink agreements to let certain things slide. If it’s minor stuff, sure, let it go. If it’s felonies, the perps must be brought to justice.

Rule of law > ruling elites

If President Trump wants Sessions gone he can wait until the senate is in recess, fire Sessions, and recess-appoint anyone he wants as a replacement. That appointment is good for a year, which should be well enough time for some swamp draining to get underway.

I think maybe EEE is related to Sessions or something.

“Be nice to uncle Jeff. He got me great Christmas presents when I was a youngster.”

The House and/or Senate will never be in recess. GOPe took care of that by keeping it open around Christmas so trump could make any changes.

Sessions has been so weak that it makes me wonder if the Democrats have something on him.

“when Trump wanted Sessions to resign”

Good luck finding Trump actually having made such a statement.

Trump has the authority to fire Rosenstein as well as Sessions. Too bad for the “Grassley has Trump by the short hairs” rumor mongers.

From the WaPo Feb 2nd 2018:

“As president, Trump can fire people who work in the executive branch for whatever reason he wants. Take FBI Director James B. Comey, whom Trump fired in May because of, he said, “this Russia thing.”

” When reporters asked him point blank Friday in the Oval Office whether he was going to fire Rosenstein, Trump responded cryptically: “You figure that one out.”
