'Let's Get Rid of Him': Chaffetz Says Sessions Is 'Worthless Attorney General'
Fox News ^ | February 9, 2018 | Insider

On "Outnumbered" on Friday, Fox News contributor and former Utah congressman Jason Chaffetz slammed Attorney General Jeff Sessions and said it's time to "get rid of him."

Some lawmakers in recent weeks have called for Sessions to resign, criticizing his Justice Department for not cooperating with Congress and for leaks related to the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Sessions recused himself from the FBI's Russia probe in early March after acknowledging that he had had two previously undisclosed encounters with the Russian ambassador during Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. He said it would be improper for him to oversee a probe into a campaign for which he was a vocal and prominent supporter.

That eventually led to the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which infuriated President Trump.

"He's conflicted himself out of his this," Chaffetz said. "He should resign or step down or the president should fire him. He's a worthless attorney general. ... Let's get rid of him. Have a real attorney general."

Sessions is the swamp. No one will be brought to justice.

Sen Grassley told Trump that if he fires Sessions the Senate will not confirm whoever Trump nominates to be AG. So Trump can not fire Sessions, to do so put Rosestein in charge of DOJ. Grassley’s got Trump by the short hairs.

Trump...knows he may need senate support in a coming impeachment trial if the dems take the House. He also knows that one thing the senate is, it is a bunch of good ole boys slapping each other on the back. He fires sessions, he loses support from some GOPe types who with the dems would gladly push him out so the good times roll again.

Bingo. There's little doubt that's exactly what's going on. They (the deep state) have a special prosecutor on a fishing expedition investigating not only Trump, but his children for crimes, while blocking his own executive branch department of justice from doing anything back to them in return, where the real crimes are being committed. And the special prosecutor isn't just any special prosecutor, he's the former Director of the FBI!

I guess we can just watch Hannity and then come here and talk about what memos Congress puts out, but that seems to be the extent of out firepower. At least as of today it is, no matter how many Freepers who can't handle the truth and want us to be quiet and trust those long time DC types like Sessions to eventually sort it out for us. That plan is a joke, I voted to build a wall and drain the swamp but haven't yet seen any evidence of either.

Easy for Chaffetz to say since he was a lousy congressman.

Grassley made that statement over six months ago, when the President gave the impression that the Trump Administration had not bothered to vet Sessions in regard to recusal.

The situation now is much different, and turnover in any president’s cabinet after a year is not too unusual. Grassley specified “this year (2017)” at the time.

Sadly, there are some very anti-American scumbag former office Holders who don’t think Jeff Sessions is useless. Quite the opposite.

Grassley said that long ago. We have some new information that may show potential movement in his thinking on the matter:

Grassley tells Attorney General Sessions his memo doesn’t comply with law

https://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3630270/posts

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley says a recent memo written by the attorney general to Justice Department heads that instructs them not to communicate with Congress without pre-approval from the Justice Department Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) is almost certainly illegal.

The Iowa Republican told Jeff Sessions in a letter Tuesday that his recent memo “does not appear to comply with existing law,” and he asked Sessions to revise the memo accordingly.

Chaffetz is a Mormon NeverTrumper. That should say everything about his opinions on the Trump Administration.”

That may be but he’s absolutely right. Sessions has turned out to be the best friend the rats ever had.

I’ve been trying to give Sessions the benefit of the doubt but he either has to take solid action to redeem himself or go away...waiting for “The New Sheriff” in Town to do some “Sheriffing”..

I don’t know about Sessions. I admit, he looks BAD!

Then I ask myself, self, why does Trump keep him?

The answer given here is ridiculous. I don’t know who you are describing here, but it’s not the Trump I know.

Until Sessions is fired/resigns, I’m trusting Trump on this.
Trump is not afraid to say “you’re FIRED!”. I think the president has his reasons and time will tell. I’m hoping that the fecklessness of Sessions is a big smoke screen.

We shall see.

Many months back when Trump wanted Sessions to resign I was perplexed. I thought Sessions a great guy. But as time has gone by I keep saying “Where is Sessions”? Its been over a year and what has he accomplished? If he needs to recuse himself…step down and go away.
I also find it interesting that talk radio hosts, avoid this subject seemingly protecting Sessions.
What good does it do to endlessly talk about the memo etc, when nobody in the justice department has the will to do anything about it?
Where is Sessions???

I haven't seen any evidence of that. He's said on FOX News it was because Sessions was refussing to prosecute the crimes by the Obama administration thta his committee was sending over to Sessions to prosecute.

Could be Grassley is evolving on the usefulness of AG Sessions. Personally I think Sessions is worse then worthless.

When you're up to your a$$ in alligators, it's difficult to remind yourself of your initial objective to drain the swamp.

Draining the Beltway Swamp is not for the faint of heart. It requires planning, quick thinking, action, reaction, and a whole lot of alligator slaying before pulling the plug. There are already a good number of large 'gators missing or reassigned from the Swamp. Starting with Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, Comey, McCabe, Ohr, Baker, Page, Strozk, Rybicki, Laufman, Kortan, and now deputy to Rosenstein, Brand, are neutered, to name a few.

Do you think ANY of these would be sidelined if Loretta Lynch were Attorney General? Additionally, and maybe even more importantly, after the Yates memo which limiting Inspector General Horowitz's ability to uncover FBI wrongdoing, was cancelled, Horowitz was able to open up his Swamp clearing to where it is now. Much of the information we have seen in the past several months has been due to Horowitz.

I'm for giving Sessions and Horowitz a bit more time to kill some more 'gators before pulling the plug on them.

Sessions was the lone voice fighting against H-1B abuse in congress. I was a huge fan but he is asleep. He does need to go and this makes me feel awful having to say that.

Sessions still has Obama’s Minions at the DOJ and is using them as advisers

Agree 1000%!!!!

Sessions alone is why Strzok and Page are still employed, and McCabe gets his pension.

Zero indictments.

The chorus needs to get LOUDER! Call your congress critters and tell them Sessions needs to go!

(in b4 Qnuts say he’s working with Mueller, trust him, etc.)

The best way to measure if Sessions needs to go, is suggest he be fired, and watch the reaction from the left. Especially dem congressional folks.

Then do the oposite.

Compare and contrast to Kelly. The dem chorus is “he needs to go!”

Bring up firing Sessions, the dem chorus is “treason! obstruction!!!”

That’s all you really need to know who benefits from Sessions staying.
