Magic.

Look at what this hand is doing. Pay no attention to the other hand.

Perhaps various kerfuffles are all about keeping the media occupied while the indictments are piling up, and keeping the indictees unaware. Maybe Sessions, rather than being asleep, is working overtime to bring the perps to justice. Maybe his remarks about cracking down on pot are meant to distract from his real work.

Other things that I think are shiny toys to distract: military parade, memos. I’m not saying they are “nothing burgers” but really, all of us here already knew what was in the memo before it came out. Yet it the whole process was dragged on and on for no apparent reason. Distraction? I think so. It kept the media/libs/dems distracted for a long time. I think it also served to panic a lot of people. Why? Because the perps know exactly what they are guilty of but they probably aren’t quite sure about how much Trump knows. So if Trump drags it out and makes them sweat, that has an effect. They risk making mistakes or blurting out things.

Also, think about this: Schiff fought hard to prevent the release of a memo that turned out to be fairly unremarkable. The R congressmen who saw it and commented on it said they were shocked, that it was a bombshell. So, IMO, one or more of these things:

1. Congressmen have a drastically different idea of bombshell than we do.
2. Congressmen are way more narcissistic than we even imagined and think everything is about them, everything they do is way more important that any normal person thinks it is. (Yeah, this is a given!)
3. WE DIDN’T SEE THE REAL MEMO! Maybe the real memo really was a bombshell and it was used to make Schiff and others sweat. Then a different watered down memo was what was finally revealed. That could be part of the “magic” or “distraction” or “redirection”.

Remember Schiff was claiming that the memo compromised sources and methods? So, either he was totally lying (not unlikely or a surprise), or maybe it did in the version that we did not see.

Just a few theories/possibilities to consider.

military parade

Yes, the old bread and circuses. It got the media all off in a huff. I cannot believe that Trump would actually waste Mattis's time with organizing a parade at a critical time like this.

Exactly as I’ve been seeing it except Memo is bombshell in that it substantiated and confirmed things we believed based on reports etc., introduced to the masses and formally submitted such for further process - ala FISC in 4/2017 - now people are expected and directed to do things! After all, it’s the law! They just never expected him to win and most have fallen for media trap. Where did parade story come from? I dunno but it’s exactly what you describe.

Very good points and analysis, generally.

Re the Memo:

Yes, there is a lot of “kerfuffle” about it (I love that word!) Looking at how ill-informed so many of us in our society are, I’m thinking that the Memo is a genuine smoking gun as to the corrupt spew we are dealing with which the general population - even some dems - can stomach.

In my mind, even though for many of us who keep track we had the attitude “WELL FINALLY!!” when the memo was released....there were countless other good Americans who were genuinely shocked.

Bottom Line:
To me the Memo is pulling the scab off an infected wound. We are now in a position to witness the drainage of the awful putrid mess - and because there is so much it will take some time.

Q did explain that info is everything, and that there needs to be a weaning away from the lies of MSM and the general pop to become more accustomed to relying on fellow citizens for solid info.
