The San Diego Girl Scout council is looking into whether a scout who was photographed selling cookies outside a marijuana dispensary broke any rules.
Officials were trying to identify the girl and talk to her family because she was in a commercial area, which is not allowed, council spokeswoman Mary Doyle said in an email Monday.
Urbn Leaf posted a photograph of the girl on Friday outside the shop that sells medical and recreational marijuana and invited customers on its Instagram account to come get some Girl Scout cookies.
The girl wearing her green vest of badges is clutching boxes of cookies outside the front doors of Urbn Leaf in the photo, which was widely shared on the internet.

Cannabis is now legal in California and a direct result of that is the munchies a lot of times, he joked.
The photo drew praise and criticism. Some objected to a child photographed outside a dispensary.

About 14,000 girls participate in San Diegos Girl Scout cookie program.
As Girl Scouts, we assume good intent, Doyle said. When we learn that a girl is in violation of a standard/guideline, we almost always discover that the parent was unaware of the rules.
Water Forecast Is Bleak for Major Reservoir in Southwest US If a rule is broken again, the girl could lose the awards she earned by selling a certain number of boxes of cookies, but Doyle said that is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Urbn Leaf wants to talk to the council and clear up any misunderstandings, Senn said.
Ive been in the cannabis industry a long time and worked to bring it out of the shadows, he said.

Anytime we can help out by driving more people to support local fundraising like a Girl Scout selling cookies, well do that, he said.
And why I don't buy Boy Scout popcorn.
Leave the kid alone, she outsmarted the rest of them, good for her!
Thanks for your #17!
Yes, selling cookies to hungry pot smokers broke the rules, definately. For punishment and use of highly creative economics she should be promoted to President of the Girl Scouts.
Sleepy Sessions will make sure she does jail time.
I don’t buy their cookies because they are expensive and terrible. Think “Oreos”.
Local Reno coverage said she was adjacent to the MJ property-—but not ON IT.
Looking at the rules, she was determined to have done nothing wrong.
She is on a public street & public sidewalk.
What is your preference for a ‘no cookie zone’ for a GS????
What places would be the center of that zone???
They sell in every kind of ‘commercial area’ I have ever seen.
Thank you! My question exactly!
“I do not like the GSA (aka Future Lesbians of America)”

What the hell are you talking about?
I was a Girl Scout,as were my friends, and one of my daughters was a Girl Scout.
I have very pleasant memories of the Scouts.
.
“Girl Scouts support abortion”
Among other contemporary degeneracies. I refuse to purchase. I feel bad for the little girls who usually evidence shock. Nevertheless, they have been morphed into the Sanger Jugend.
What you grew up with is not what the organization is these days.
Now the organization has been taken over by radical feminists and radical lesbian activists and instead of teaching girls to become good women they teach them to become good Democrats and anti-family socialists.
