A South Florida woman is accused of shooting her husband multiple times during an argument over HOA complaints.
Lisa A. Barreca, 53, was arrested Monday on an attempted murder charge in the shooting of her husband Eric Barreca, Boynton Beach Police said.
According to an arrest affidavit, the incident began with an argument over HOA complaints that quickly escalated. Eric Barreca said he followed his wife to the garage, where she grabbed a firearm from her car, the affidavit said.
Eric Barreca told officers he slapped and pushed his wife, and shot him multiple times, the affidavit said. When officers arrived they found him shot in the head, both arms, his right leg and back.
Lisa Barreca also had a gunshot wound in her right thigh, but the affidavit didn't explain how she ended up shot. She told officers she was in fear, and invoked her right to legal counsel, the affidavit said.
The affidavit said Lisa Barreca didn't call 911 or administer medical treatment to her husband.
"Lisa Barreca showed no signs of emotion or remorse for [Eric's] injuries and did not ask about his welfare," the affidavit said. "Lisa Barreca stated that she just wants to get home to her dog."
The affidavit said a handgun was recovered at the scene along with seven spent shell casings.
"Let it also be noted that [Eric] was shot in the back indicative of fleeing not attacking," the affidavit said.
Both husband and wife were hospitalized, and Lisa Barreca was expected to be booked into jail after her release from the hospital.
HOA = Home Owners Association.

I think it is critical that we know what the HOA dispute was about, before voting for guilty or not guilty.
Also, the article seems to skip around, and it is very vague as to what actually happened.....

Investigators are in the process of retrieving video from the security cameras around the home.
A spokeswoman for the Boynton Beach Police Department says Eric is alive and hospitalized in stable condition. According to a report, Lisa sustained a gunshot wound to her right thigh.
Since she is still hospitalized, Lisa Barreca will not make her first court appearance Tuesday.
She’s pretty good. Not an easy song.
Looks like someone clicked the wrong statute in the booking computer. 782.04 is for first-degree murder, but 782.051 (the next applicable law in sequence) is for attempted first-degree, premeditated murder. As far as I can tell, there are no subsequent articles posted about the victim’s death.
