A Republican primary challenger in Illinois' gubernatorial race is under fire for her campaign advert mocking transgender people, feminists and immigration activists.
State Rep. Jeanne Ives, who is running against Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner in the Republican primary, released the ad on Saturday.
Titled 'Thank you Bruce Rauner', it features actors dressed up as different stereotypes to to mock the governor who has faced criticism from some in his own party for being too moderate on certain issues.

Primaries are base elections. If this gets her base out then it’s an effective ad, regardless of who among her opponents she insults or upsets.
