Jim Caviezel: New 'Passion of the Christ' to be 'biggest film in history'

Jim Caviezel, who stunned the world with his portrayal of Jesus in the 2004 blockbuster “The Passion of the Christ,” is now confirming he’s on board with director Mel Gibson for a sequel, and predicts it will be “the biggest film in history.”

“There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience,” the 49-year-old actor told USA Today. “It’s great. Stay tuned.”

Both Gibson and Caviezel have not said much about the story focusing on the resurrection of Christ, but the star indicated he’s encouraged by the direction the project is taking.

“I won’t tell you how he’s going to go about it,” Caviezel said of Gibson. “But I’ll tell you this much, the film he’s going to do is going to be the biggest film in history. It’s that good.”

“The Passion” isn’t the only big sequel. You’re not being told the entire truth about the Bible’s contents. Learn Scripture on the spirit level as well as the physical level in the best-selling sequel “Shocked by the Bible 2” — autographed at WND!

The original “Passion of the Christ” followed the last 12 hours of Christ’s life. The movie brought in more than $611 million worldwide on a $30 million budget, and remains the highest-grossing R-rated film ever in North America with $370.8 million.

I hope they use English this time.

It was the subtitles that knocked it out of running for the Oscars Best Movie award, since it was a ‘foreign language film’................

I beg to differ, I prefer subtitles. Always found it weird in war movies when Germans speak English with a British accent.

I recent watched “The Longest Day”, where all the actors spoke English, instead of their native language......Couldn’t watch it, I much prefer to have actors speak the native language with subtitles.

Just don’t have Hayden Christensen play resurrected Jesus.

Seeing that I’m practically deaf, subtitles are a help, but I like both the English and the subtitles to be the same.

My wife won’t go see a movie with subtitles at all................

We watch it every year during Holy Week.

It adds a huge amount to my understanding of His Passion and Death.

(16 years of Catholic education here).

He played ghost Darth Vader. Or rather he was airbrushed in by George Lucas to replace the original actor from the original film. And I was being a bit facetious.

Have never seen a single Star Wars film since the original in 1977...................

If you're bored on a rainy afternoon, Empire Strikes Back is a good flick, and then, of course, you'd have to round out the original trilogy by watching the more mediocre but sstill entertaining Return of the Jedi, but, after that, your life would remain in a much better condition if you avoided every single other Star Wars film ever to be puked out by Lucas or Disney.

I like the old guy from the original return of the Jedi. I hate what Lucas and Spielberg did to their own films 2 decades later. Han shot first. And the FBI carried shotguns, not walkie talkies.

Never saw the ‘Passion ‘. 10 years of Catholic parochial school gave me pretty much all the data.

Try it at least once. I put off watching it for years because I, believing the media, thought it would be a non-stop gore fest.

It's not like that at all. I was surprised by how absorbing it is. Yes it's bloody, but it's also accurate.

Jesus is the Word and reading the Word is more important than any movie, of course. But there's something important about seeing the Word too.
