President Donald Trump said many words during his hour and 20 minute long State of the Union address Tuesday evening, but he did not mention women once.
Trump’s first year in office was a landmark year for women, as the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements shaped political and popular culture. Multiple elected and appointed officials were forced to resign after admitting to sexual harassment and assault, and more women than ever will run for office in 2018.
The president, meanwhile, made several attempts to limit access to reproductive care, refused to call himself a feminist and was accused of cheating on his wife with adult film star Stephanie Gregory Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels. Trump's annual average approval rating for his first year in office was only 33 percent among women, compared with 45 percent among men.
But it’s not just Trump: Republicans also have a female problem.
According to recent polling, women favor Democrats over Republicans in the November midterm elections by 16 points, while men support both parties at parity. Such data indicates that Trump "is not likely to be much help in rallying women to support Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections," said Gallup's Megan Brenan.
Ignoring women’s issues during the most important policy-shaping speech of the year doesn’t help. Trump only used the term “woman” once, while telling the story of a homeless woman who was found pregnant and injecting heroin.
“We know where we stand in Trump's vision of our union,” tweeted the National Women's Law Center after his speech.

I’d rather have a president who says America a lot instead of one that says, “I, I, I, ME, ME, ME.” He’s president of the USA and the communists are so mad that he cares about our country. It’s a pity they don’t see that they’re the problem.
Women? What women? All I see are brainless ‘its’.
President Trump mentioned “all Americans”, “every citizen”, and “we” many times. He mentioned Coast Guard Petty Officer Ashlee Leppert, Sandy Keplinger, Evelyn Rodriguez, Elizabeth Alvarado, Kayla Cuevas, Nisa Mickens, and Rebecca Holets. He mentioned doctors, nurses, and paramedics, many of whom are women. He mentioned married couples, which for real marriages includes one man and one woman in each couple. He mentioned illegals - a group of criminals that includes a lot of women. I’ve just touched the surface and could go on far longer, but my point is proven:
President Trump mentioned individual women, and he mentioned groups that include large proportions of women. Every woman in the country was included in his remarks multiple times, with many of them recognized as individuals. What our president did not do was play identity politics - promising divided subgroups special treatment from his government in return for absolute and unswerving loyalty at the polls. President Trump spoke like a leader and a statesman instead of like a fake Santa Claus.
He didnt mention homos either.

According to recent elections, your Marxist/fascist democrats lost more than 1,000 state legislature seats, lost 20 governor chairs, lost the US House, lost the US Senate and, too bad for you, little 50-IQ snowflake, lost the US presidency.

No he didn’t mention women particularly; he was more inclusive by referring to “we”, as in all Americans not segregated by sex, race, ethnicity or religion.
Ah, but to the Progressives, who always speak of “inclusiveness”, and how we are all “the same”, you MUST segregate and distinguish everyone always by sex, race, ethnicity and religion. Their mental approach on that score is decidedly one of mass hypocrisy in how they speak a word but mean the opposite of what the word actually means. Destroying language is one of the first steps in destroying a culture.
