That’s so cool. Our local college lets seniors audit classes for free. I have been thinking about going to one, but the gas would cost a lot - it’s about 30 miles away. So for now, I’ve just been reading stuff on the internet.

At some point in time, I might buy some books to study-cheaper than gasoline. St. Louis has casinos. You could make a stop over. If you do, I might get the courage to go there. I’d stay out of the ones on the Mississippi River.

There’s one in West County close to Earth City that’s supposed to be quite nice. I’m pretty much a stay at home gal. We almost never go anywhere. Our next big purchase will be an insert for the fireplace. If electric bills go too high, we will use that instead.

When the kids were small we had 2 fireplaces, and in the basement we had a wood stove. The furnace never came on. Our neighbor worked for the forest service. So all the men in the neighborhood went out and got the wood that was available from fallen trees etc. They don’t let you do that any more. We are right at the edge of Mark Twain Nat’l. Forest.

We have 20 acres north of town with plenty of wood, and quite a few trees in our yard that we would cut to use and make more garden beds, if we needed to grow more than we do now.

I am looking for a church that has an evening bible class. I was attending one that was for all religions in the AM. I just can’t seem to get my sleep schedule straightened out. I sleep between 7am and 1 or 8 pm. So I haven’t been able to attend.

So I have been doing my own bible study. I ordered the companion bible which has the original words and their various meanings. For example, The 4 horsemen Red, White, Black, and Pale. Well the word for pale is also green.

Ever notice that every single flag in Islamic countries is those exact colors? Interesting coincidence. I’ve been reading through the various chapters of Revelations and Genesis 6, and also looking at the Books of Enoch.

Ethiopia kept the book of Enoch, in their canon, but the confab that got together to determine who were the truly inspired writers decided Enoch didn’t qualify, so it’s not in the King James version, which is what I grew up with.

The nice thing is that there are quite a few bible teachings on the internet, and it’s nice that you don’t have to tell someone to their face if you think they are way off the beam. Just turn them off and don’t revisit. LOL

We have already been to all of those - twice. When we go north to Ohio/Penn./New York, we stop at those and others on our way up. We come back a different way and stop at casinos on that route south. I hate a plastic bag full of our cards for all those casinos.

Casinos are day care centers for seniors. They come with canes, power chairs or someone comes with them and pushes their wheelchairs. They are safe there, can get free soft drinks and have fun playing machines. Those of us who are still walking on our own, help them if they need help.

Last week, I was at a machine and an elderly little man sat down at the one next to me. He was not familiar with that machine. He left and came back with his daughter. She was standing behind him. He started playing the machine and a bell started ringing and he didn’t know why. I told him to look up, he had just won a $700 jackpot. He broke into a big smile as the ringing kept going showing the money going into where he could get it out of the machine. His daughter patted his shoulder and said to me, “He is amazing; he can do anything!” He took out his money and off they went, still laughing over his good luck.

might I suggest a copy of the Strongs Concordance as well? It shows the original Greek, Latin, Hebrew and Aramaic?
