“Let go! Let go!” the boy cried in a video shown in court Thursday as he used a stick to try to stop a 70-pound pit bull named “Bully” that dragged, chewed, broke and tore at an elderly San Antonio woman’s arm until a police officer shot the dog to death.
The graphic images were taken from the doorbell of Doris Mixon Smith, who was 72 on March 6, 2017, when her next-door neighbors’ pet somehow got out of its yard and attacked her — for at least five minutes — as she was gardening.
Mixon Smith’s arm was severed just below the elbow, and the skin and flesh on the right side of her face was ripped and torn, from the eyebrow to her chin

Always a pit bull
“Pit Bulls” need to be rounded up and put down - along with all other dog breeds that have a known propensity for being violent towards human beings. And the owners of dogs who attack people like this creature did should be jailed.
Were I on the jury, I’d vote GUILTY.
Pit Bulls are the islam of dog breeds.
Doesn’t take much to provoke a pit bull. A female tenant in the apartment house down the street from me (she moved recently) had one that she allowed OFF LEASH when she took it outside to do his business. He snarled at me one morning when I unexpectedly encountered them on my walk. Another time, I watched the dog walk out into the road and “challenge” a slow-moving car... all this going on with the d.a. owner standing there doing NOTHING.
Funny how the most violent of dogs always wind up with such irresponsible dregs as owners. Perfect marriage of the two, and you wind up with someone else in misery.
If you tried a fraction of the things illegals do in America in Mexico, you would be immediately deported or worse.
Do we allow that? It depends I suppose but don't think we've ever done anything that blatant to say Canada.
There is an update. The husband received 4 years, and the wife received ten years probation.

I’ve heard people claim PBs aren’t all bad, that they can be good dogs. I don’t know if there’s any truth to that or not, but you made the defining point - it seems most people who get them aren’t exactly looking for a loving pet.
i think you posted to the wrong thread ;)
i was just going to ask about this. i know nothing about pit bulls. i know some dog people that swear they can be good dogs. and it’s all in how they are treated.

It's weird because I was reading to my daughter about that horrible pitbull incident, had that thread open.
Oh well. Thanks and hope to see you on a cheerier thread. I told my daughter she ought to think about defending herself if she gets attacked when she's out in parks walking. The best thing I came up with for myself since I don't carry was to go for their eyes with something, even claw with my fingers. May not get that chance though. Should be pretty deadly though.
