Second Tape of Finding Saddam, Part 2 - 14 Dec 2003
A young gentleman who had been 8 years old when this happened asked me to put up more of my news tapes of the event. I'll be doing that over the next few days.
If you can think of anything to say to the young man about what this meant to you after 9/11, I'd love to see your remarks in Comments on YouTube. Be warned though, I delete rude comments and anti-war comments. But if you have anything to teach this young man who wants to live through what we lived through with these tapes, then I think you'd be doing him a great service.
PING
You are very powerful.
Everyone should subject themselves and their comments to your judgement.
You are almost like a god with your abilities.
I personally know the man that found Saddam. Actually, two men. One Marine, one Army.
And you are rude. As usual.
cool! what did they have to say?
please share
That is absolutely AMAZING! Can you say anything that they told you?
Finding Saddam was important once the war was started. To have let him slip away would have meant an incomplete victory. That said, the war didn’t produce a strategic victory anyhow. Iraq is now a near-province of Iran and Christianity in Iraq and Syria has been all but wiped out.
A reasonable historical perspective, though one we never expected when we were living through this time. At least I never did. I hoped for the best outcome, and believed it would happen. The worst thing for me is, as you say, seeing how Iran now dominates and Christians are endangered. It’s horrifying, actually.
Everything changed when Democrats pressed for the classification of the captured Iraqi documents and Bush/Rove acquiesced.
I think there is much more to be learned yet about Saddam’s capabilities, his intentions, and his facilitators. The cynic in me believes that a full airing of those documents would implicate a lot of US politicians and companies in Saddam’s nefarious plans.
Just one more way GWB failed America, IMHO.
He did make so very many mistakes. I had so much trust in him then. It does hurt.
Absolutely he did, and yes it hurts to this day,
Fast forward fifteen years and we had our country wrecked by a guy named Hussein.
I’ve never seen that. Know any context? Needs a 3rd part with him in the hole.
It was old fashioned intelligence work that found him. Lee Trevino (not the golfer) and an Army Staff Sergeant poured over every detail and every lead until they zeroed in on a farm near Tikrit. Lee became quite popular on the speaking circuit and eventually became an instructor.
Took me a moment to catch that. Good one.
May his due diligence and attention to detail give him the most successful and happy life. We owe them both.

Not sure what you’re referring to. The video is still being viewed and I’ve only announced here, so the link is working for people. I tried it myself and it worked.
The direct link, without playlist, is:

Or were you referring to something else? Apologies for my confusion.
