Thanks for the link.

Now that I think of it, I am vaguely familiar with the title but that’s about it.

Agree with you. The book pushes the idea that only the liberal white man can protect black people.

Love it how Harper Lee sets Atticus’ bona fides as a “real man” by being the only marksman good enough to put down the rabid dog. It’s like Pajama Boy showing off his mad kung fu skills.

There’s no reason to be mean to him. Sit him down, give him a nice glass of soda pop, and calmly explain, “Sir, the problem here is that you are stupid. The solution is that you allow yourself to be guided by smarter people, instead of trying to guide them. Do you understand? Can you say, ‘I am stupid?’ I knew you could.”

Parent Tujama Kameeta

"Parent"???

Is it a mother or a father? Does it know which it is?

These cretins also love to hate Huckleberry Finn ... ironic, because Nigger Jim is the only really decent adult character in the whole book.

The book is useless. I’ve read it from cover to cover and didn’t learn anything at all about how to kill mockingbirds.

“The reason it is a perennial best seller is because it is required reading in college and high school classes.”

Winston Churchill and Douglas MacArthur both deplored Charles Dickens. Gives me the nerve to say that Hemmingway sucks.

My kids haven’t read it because it’s not particularly good literature.

I have read some of Hemingway. Some of his stuff is okay, but “The Old Man and the Sea” reads like it was written by kid in grade school. Never understood how it won a Pulitzer, much less the Nobel Prize is beyond me.

The Pulitzer and Nobel prizes (except for science) are beneath contempt.

I was watching a clip from one of the old Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts, it was one where Sammy Davis was the roastee. Martin starts by saying Sammy’s baby crib was a carved out watermelon. Now in today’s world that is PC Incorrect. If you go back and look at some of those roasts you could not use that material today.

One thing about Don is that he was equal opportunity in his insults. The only guy who could say crazy stuff about Frank Sinatra and get away with it. But underneath it all was a guy who had a heart of gold.

This parent is missing the whole point of To Kill A Mockingbird if she thinks it’s racist. I would guarantee she hasn’t read the book.

Of course she didn't. No need - I'll be she just did an online search for the "offending" words.

That’s how Rickles got his start. He insulted Sinatra, and Sinatra thought it was so funny, he got Rickles his big break.

Hehe. I remember an Archie Bunker episode where he didn’t want George Jefferson moving next door because watermelon rinds would be flying out of their windows.
