Amazon’s store of the future has been five years in the making. But the unveiling is just about here.
Amazon Go, the company’s first brick-and-mortar convenience store, will open to the public on Monday on the ground floor of Amazon’s new headquarters on Seventh Avenue in Seattle. Though the unveiling will take place about a year later than the company originally planned, it will still be met with great intrigue because of the store’s unique technology that Amazon believes can make checkout lines a thing of the past.

Real curious to see if and when Amazon will put these types of stores in inner Chicago, Baltimore, or other ‘hoods.
Great, if the stores work, but at this moment I don’t see how you prevent loss on a scale larger than traditional such stores. And should it become common knowledge that these stores are easy marks... look out.
Just like the “flash robs” practiced by obamma’s boys and girls. A bunch of street thugs rushes into a store and overpowers the staff and takes whatever is “rightfully” theirs due to years of evil White Privilege and rushes out without paying.

The MS cafeterias operate similarly, with a kiosk to accept card swipe payments. Very efficient, no need to deal with cash or cashiers.
