Helen Mirren has a message for the Times Up movement: “Time's up? I would say it’s about time.”
The 72-year-old star said she couldn’t directly relate to the countless women abused in Hollywood because by the time she came to Hollywood she was already in her 30s — but she did admit being victim to sexual harassment when she was younger.
“I had never experienced that in Hollywood because I came to Hollywood I was in my 30s, I was too old,” she recalled to Willie Geist in a “Sunday Today” airing this weekend. “It doesn’t happen to you unless you are really young.”
“When I was between 16 and 23, 24, men would expose themselves to me, often. I would say about once a week. On the subway, on the tube, on the bus, walking down a road. And it's like, ugh,” Mirren said. “Weird, because it's not like you're going to go, ‘Oh my god, that's the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen.’ It's the opposite. It's horror!”

Mirren elaborated on the Time's Up and Me Too movements, admitting it’s long overdue.
Reese Witherspoon used her time at the podium during the ELLE Women In Hollywood Celebration on Oct. 16, 2017 to shed some light on being sexually assaulted by a director at age 16. "I've had multiple experiences of harassment and sexual assault, and I don't speak about them very often, but after hearing all the stories these past few days and hearing these brave women speak up tonight, the things that we're kind of told to sweep under the rug and not talk about, it's made me want to speak up and speak up loudly because I felt less alone this week than I've ever felt in my entire career.", she added.
“The last four or five months there’s been an enormous shift going on. It’s been coming. I’d say ‘Time's Up? I would say well it’s about time,’ time's up, it’s taken a long time to get here.”
The longtime actress recently received a Golden Globes nomination for her role in “The Leisure Seeker,” which is due out Friday.
Mirren’s full interview with Geist will air on NBC on Sunday.

They have errantly surrounded themselves with liberal peers who invite, encourage, and accept intolerable behavior from men. Could be the reason they are victims.
I think her acting is exceptionally good... and I have no doubt that jerks exposed themselves to a beautiful young woman. However, I’m not buying that it was weekly for years...
At the same time, as a husband, father and grandfather, I am glad to see people finally taking a stand against this kind of abuse, and at one level don’t see it as Liberal vs. Conservative. I recognize that it is wielded as a political club when convenient to do so, but many who have embraced #MeToo are not fundamentally doing so for political or self-virtue-signaling reasons.
I can’t stand Miren’s politics either...

Tell that to David Hare, Mirren. You used to sit naked in your dressing room while he tried to give you rehearsal notes. He makes it pretty damn clear that you did it to intimidate and embarrass him. You also have pranced about totally naked in film for 40 years!
Probably EARNED a certain reputation in Hollywood, and all the other men wanted to ride the train.
This is pretty rich for someone(Mirren) who has been nude in movies since 1969.
Also, after her role in 2014’s Wild, Reese Witherspoon should not be talking.

Reese Witherspoon is currently in a movie acting without her clothes on.
It an odd way that is pretty impressive. Not many actresses look good enough after 40 years to have people want to see them naked. She might have a nice body but she is morally bankrupt and always has been. Personally, I have no desire to she her clothed or unclothed in any situation.
Oh please, what did she expect when she decided on pursuing that career?
I’ve even seen her naked on the stage. Antony & Cleopatra. I guess most guys in the audience wanted to be the asp but I rolled my eyes.
If men exposed themselves to her every week, why did she keep going there?
So Hollywood is full of perverts and enablers.
