Heck, Harrison Ford was too old in the last one and that was over 10 years ago if I recall! There is not enough CGI and stuntmen on Earth to make him a credible Indiana Jones. The only way it might work is if he played a supporting role like Sean Connery did in The Last Crusade.
Some movies should never be remade. West Side Story is one of them. It was a different time when such a story was relevant, and the audience could still appreciate such music. Now there are no more street gangs like that. Today they are all drug gangs. And a great number of the potential audience can only relate to cheesy pop, hip hop and rap. Plus the original portrayed real men and women. Today the characters would be gay, tranny, overly aggressive females and wimpy males. Oh, and the cast would have to be “diverse” with the whites completely portrayed as the bad guys.
I was on the set of AI back in Aug thru Nov of 2000. On election night I was a few feet behind him while he was waving a cigar in the air saying how Gore was going to wipe Bush up in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisc, Mich and all the Midwest. Finally had to go outside and walk around studio 16. I think it was 16. Still a very interesting 4 months.
Awwww, c’mon, can’t you just see all the kiddies begging for action figures of a 77 year old? The inspiration for a geriatric ‘action hero’ every kid wants to be...uh, every 80 year old? WHO is the target audience?? Stoned grandpas?

the only way to use Harrison ford is as an old man recalling his younger years and getting a young twenty to thirty something to play the part of a younger Indiana Jones.
Better yet, a new "Flashman".
And don't hire Malcolm McDowell for the lead.
There is no way to recast Natalie Wood.
Even that is assuming he doesn’t crash-n-burn playing Han Solo in one of his PC jets.
