Nevada taxpayers shelled out $750 million

Think of all the schools or infrastructure that could have built.

Will this stadium have a roof? Rumor has it that things get rather toasty in Southern Nevada in September and October.

I don’t care about the MFL any more. When the Broncos took a knee they were dead to me. Have not watched a game since. Don’t plan to until the MFL takes the rascists down hard.

Why can’t we work some deals with the States for Fed boys like that?

They’ll probably want to play the super bowl in Vegas every other year. And host the draft there on the years in between. That will let them rake in some good dough.

This article implies that NV residents are being taxed for the state's share of building the stadium.

Wrong.

The taxes are paid by people who pay for a NV hotel/resort room.

Who’s bright idea was this?! They should be boycotting the team, not wasting our tax dollars on this rejected team that seems to move around every few years.

Michael Leeds, a Temple University economist who has argued against the use of taxpayer funds to build sports stadiums, said the targeted tax provision goes beyond anything he has ever seen.

I have to agree.

Why should the tax payer build a facility that has little use beyond making millionaires and billionaires richer.

Most of the contracts cities and states make today for these stadiums funnels all of the money generated within the stadium (including parking) to the team organization. That is all money whether generated during games or other non-game activities (concerts) to the team.

This to me is totally ridiculous. The team puts out no money for building the stadium and yet reaps all of the profits.

The fact that politicians agree to this is totally unacceptable. These people should be put out of office at the earliest opportunity. This is either corruption or incompetence.

Now this latest outrage. Preventing the state from making any effort to recoup some money from the state built facility. Totally beyond the pale.

And to top it all off. The NFL may not even exist in a few years. Wouldn’t that be the Bomb.

Ha Ha.

Californians move to Nevada hoping to avoid California's ever-increasing tax burden. In doing so, they are turning a solid Red state to Purple.

And now they get their comeuppance by getting taxed for a team that is probably the least politically correct team on the planet.

Fail.

We need to put an end to these stadium shakedowns.

Let the billionaires build their own damn sports palaces.

30 years? In Georgia, they help them build a new stadium after 20 years.

Bread and CIRCUSES.

Ancient Rome had nothing on these modern day Caesars and multi-millionaire gladiators.

There the peasants got their bread and circuses ‘free’.

Here, the peasants are robbed twice for it. The first time at the point of the Caesar’s tax collector’s guns, and again at the gate.

(At least the second time is voluntary, and the idiot sportsfans onlyy their addiction to blame.

Utterly ridiculous - the taxpayers in Nevada are getting screwed big time on this by the Raiders, the NFL and complicit Nevada politicians.

Combine the bad stadium deal with a significant decline in interest in the NFL along with the fact that the average Vegas local is not going to be able to afford to see a game in this new stadium, and this is shaping up to be a real disaster for both Vegas and the Raiders.

What a Suckers Bet that deal was.The people of the State pay the bill for thirty years while the team keeps the proceeds.

Screw football and the teams that depend on the taxpayers to subsidize them.
