FULL TITLE: Who pushed the button? Anger in Hawaii over Civil Defense bungle that told terrified islanders a MISSILE was rocketing towards them causing thousands to flee to bomb shelters and pray for their lives
Anger is spreading in Hawaii after a Civil Defense bungle on Saturday morning, when a mistaken alert warning of an inbound ballistic missile sent thousands fleeing for shelter.
Panicked Hawaiians ran for their lives and even lowered loved ones through manhole covers after receiving the alert at 8.07am local time.
It read: 'BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL'.
A similar message flashed up on local television networks and brought live sports games to a halt. Actor Jim Carrey, like many others, said he woke up thinking he had 'ten minutes to live'.
The false alarm was caused by a Hawaii Emergency Management Agency employee who 'pushed the wrong buttons' during an internal drill timed to coincide with a shift handover.
Incredibly, officials said the employee who made the mistake wasn't aware of it until mobile phones in the command center began displaying the alert.
'This guy feels bad, right. He's not doing this on purpose - it was a mistake on his part and he feels terrible about it,' said EMA Administrator Vern Miyagi in a press conference Saturday afternoon.
Miyagi, a retired Army major general, said the employee had been with the agency for 'a while' and that he would be 'counseled and drilled so this never happens again' - but stopped short of saying whether there would be disciplinary measures.

It sure got my attention here in a Texas. I spent several years on Oahu courtesy of the Army. There isn’t a whole lot of hide space there for the general populace. I know my heart would have been racing if I had received that text alert on my phone.
It’s still called civil defense in Hawaii.
Just a stupid Hawaii democrat which most of them are.
A lot of people messed their underwear for nothing.

Isn’t it interesting that a certain politician can skate on the deliberate mishandling of classified government documents and everybody saw it (albeit after the fact), and yet we’re prepared to crucify some anonymous public employee in the Hawaii EMS who issued an alert over a poorly designed broadcast system? (No single individual should have the ability to issue an alert like this) This country is going bonkers.
Hawaii is still lying about Dorkbama the muslim eunuch quota boy.
So much for any indication of competency in their leadership.
And they still think any of us with experience in layering believes that silly excuse for a birth certificate.
But hey, what do we know? We’ve only got actual STEM experience. We’re not nearly as smart as politicians.

Interesting that the first wave of planes attacked Pearl Harbor at 7:55 a.m. Hawaiian time and this alarm went out at 8:05 a.m. Would have been more suspicious if the alarm had gone out tomorrow (Sunday) and ten minutes earlier.

Saw comment from a person and stuff like this take many steps and often 2 people, secure log ins, etc.
This was no freaking accident.
If SBX is sitting in the harbor, they could rig it up with the local tv station and let the people watch the missiles come in.
