Mark Wahlberg and Agency Give $2M to Time's Up Fund After Pay Discrepancy Outcry (Michelle Williams)

Wahlberg and WME are making the donation in the name of Michelle Williams, the co-star paid 1 percent of what Wahlberg was on 'All the Money in the World' reshoots.

Bowing to an outcry over the wage disparity on the reshoots of All the Money in the World, Mark Wahlberg and his agency William Morris Endeavor have agreed to donate $2 million to the Time's Up fund to combat harassment and pay inequities in Hollywood.

"Over the last few days my reshoot fee for All the Money in the World has become an important topic of conversation," Wahlberg said in a statement. "I 100 percent support the fight for fair pay and I’m donating the $1.5 million to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams’ name.”

WME is making a $500,000 donation as well.

Why stop there? How about the janitor, lighting people, drivers, etc? Why are they worth less?

Did somebody hold a gun to the young woman’s head and force her to this, or was a contractural arrangement in place before the work started?

Williams said she would do the remakes for free. Mark didn’t.

I guess she changed her mind.

And (upon further reading) it looks like she and her daughter (by HL) were accidentally left out of Heath Ledger’s will.

Oops

Agent inequality nothing else. Walhberg’s agent negotiated a better deal she agreed to be paid scale for the same time.

They are both represented by the same agency, though perhaps by different individual agents. Frankly, I do not accept the story of the pay discrepancy on face value. There may have been a difference in pay, but I think there’s more to the story than is being reported.

Well, if this is to believed then the director, producers, and her agent allowed her to get screwed over, all the while knowing Whalberg was getting a huge payday for a few days work. Does it make sense to you that a Hollywood agent would allow his or her client to basically give her time away, thereby making the agent’s fee basically nothing?

No one really knows all the details of the story. Did he have another gig he had to give up and she didn’t? Did her upfront fee include a greater percentage of the gross than his did? I’m still not buying it as reported.

the article speculates she just wanted to be done with it, distance her self from the Spacey controversy and be in consideration for an Oscar.

This article indicates his contract gave him approval over what actors he worked with. So switching Plummer for Spacey wasn’t going to happen unless Marky Mark got paid. So in effect it was a technicality. He really didn’t get $1.5 million just for reshoots.

If he felt bad why didn’t he just split the fee with her instead of donating to some charity? I am sure she would rather have that cash than watch him give away that money.

What a dimwit. All she had to do was say was that she wanted full salary for the reshoot. Either pay or live with the original.

I do not think they were married. Not even sure if they were a couple at the time of his death. He was the baby daddy.

Baby daddy for sure. Maybe this is her way to make up for the money she didn’t get? (that is what I was wondering)
