A North Carolina swamp park has posted a video explaining how alligators survive in a frozen pond, and its both creepy and bizarre...
...The alligators seem to instinctively know when the water is about to freeze, says Howard, who is general manager of the park. They respond by sticking their nose above the surface at just the right moment, allowing the water to freeze around them.... Alligators then enter a state of brumation, like hibernating. Alligators can regulate their body temperature in all sorts of weather, park officials said, and can essentially remain frozen in place until the ice melts.

The Democrats are considering adopting the (frozen) alligator as their mascot for the next fifty years.

Get some tubes of silicone and fill their nostrils.
You can sure get lost in a Louisiana bayou.

Must have run out of breadcrumbs or something?
Refrigerated reptiles.
When animals do things to survive (or build a nest-which I find absolutely fascinating), am I the only one who thinks they are just obeying God since they are not fallen? They are under a curse (since the flood), and the donkey spoke in the Old Testament. Just wondering.
I thought maybe they were having Gore-Mann Kabob.

Yeah, I know. They’ve already done the ice-road gator thing.
I think Snapper Turtles do the same thing here in Delaware. Used to be a “progger” when I was a kid. in early Spring I would walk out in the marsh and I could find their heads sticking up. I’d dig em up and sell them to the local restaurants for Snapper Soup.
Heh. Some DUMBGRUNT......made me hit the dictionary!
Semper Fi, Mac!
How about the snakes in the Florida? Has it been cold enough there to kill them? I have heard that sixty degrees F. kills them.
