If we don't start getting our immigration policies right the country is going to be over. Do we really want to see the Entire US become a bigger version of California, where Hispanics and blacks outnumber whites and the dems have full control of power forever? because that is what is coming if things don't start changing here and now.

Trump needs to say No DACA. Tell the republicans time to end the legislative filibuster so there is no government shutdown, and tell them to fully fund the wall. We the voters gave them full control of the government, time to start using it.

Don’t worry the Dems aren’t going to support a DACA deal because of the elimination of chain migration, visa lottery, and building the wall.

“Trump needs to say no to DACA,”

Absolutely correct. We’ve seen these amnesty scams before. Amnesty now, then we’ll give you border security. Which never comes.

As that wise man Wimpy said, “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

You are right.

I may have not seen the news report correctly, but the President seemed to defer the negotiations on all things immigrant to about a dozen R’s and D’s of whom he said all of them he knows and respects.

Whatever they come up with, he will accept. Even if something comes to his desk that he “doesn’t love”, he will still sign it because he will respect the deal they come up with.

Again, maybe I didn’t see it right or the news outfit (CNBC) didn’t put it it’s proper perspective, but it looks to me the President has relinquished control of the negotiations.

His fingerprints will not be directly on this deal.

I welcome any corrections.

He did say no.
DACA came in as an EO and went out as an EO in Sept. 2017. DACA is done with exceptions.
Any DACA recipients with a permit set to expire before March 5, 2018 had the opportunity to apply for a two-year renewal if they applied by October 5.
The last authorization would end March 5, 2020.

What do do with those already under DACA is the question. Right now they seem to be being used as bargaining chips for the wall.

The way I see it is that the “dreamers” aren’t going anywhere and were never going anywhere so if you can exchange that (which amounts to nothing since they’re not going to be deported anyways) for an end of chain migration, a wall, killing the lottery and merit based immigration that’s a huge win. I just never thought they were going anywhere. There are about 20 million illegals, the “dreamers” are, of that number, the lowest priority so if you get a huge ball rolling by giving them legal status I see that as a win.

That’s the real story. Immigration has never been about anything but a solid lock on power for Dems.

The Reagan amnesty turned California solid red and it has stayed that way ever since.

Even a DACA amnesty would give Democrats a permanent lock on power.

Even though Republicans had far more to do with the Reagan amnesty then Democrats, those people didn’t hesitate to give
unprecedented power to the Liberals in California.

Does the spineless GOP actually think they can steal DACA recipients from the Democrats?

No amnesty should be allowed for ANYONE!

“Thanks to all of the Republican and Democratic lawmakers for today’s very productive meeting on immigration reform. There was strong agreement to negotiate a bill that deals with border security, chain migration, lottery and DACA.”

Trump just tweeting the above. Taken face value, it says that there will be a SINGLE BILL dealing with the Wall, chain migration, the lottery, and yes, DACA. If Trump gets his way on the first 3, he survives (barely). If he gives away either the Wall or chain migration - he loses.

What he tweeted doesn’t match the “2-part” approach being talked about - Part 1 being the Wall and DACA; Part 2 being chain migration and the lottery - and it being a TOTALLY SEPARATE effort. In other words, Trump will give up his main card (DACA) before even trying for chain migration and the lottery - which of course will go nowhere without any leverage.

So which is it? This will be interesting because Trump simply is not THAT DUMB to give away the store before even negotiating critical stuff.

So who knows...but this is it, no more chances to get it right. If Trump doesn’t prevail here, Congress is gone in November and Trump and the Republicans are FINISHED as a party. Game over - time to find a new country to live in.

There needs to be a two-part deal.

End chain migration, end lottery migration, build a complete 100% wall and fund the resources to enforce it 100% of the time, end anchor babies. Once all that is done.

Then, part 2 - deal with DACA. Deport everyone with a criminal record, deport everyone who has taken any public assistance, deport all who are not fluent in English, deport all who are over 18 and not a high school graduate. Those left must go home for 5 full years, then apply for re-entry and be fully vetted, etc.

Tell the Rats, that is the deal.

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump Following Following @realDonaldTrump More As I made very clear today, our country needs the security of the Wall on the Southern Border, which must be part of any DACA approval.

DACA hurts children.

No DACA.

Amnesty hurts children.

No amnesty.

All “comprehensive immigration reform” is always about amnesty. All amnesty, birthright citizenship, chain migration is all about swelling dem ranks.

They say that the DACA children “pay taxes, produce to American society as any white or black American would”.

Is that true?
