Seven of the top ten rated shows in 2017 we’re NFL games other three we’re: Oscars, golden globes and world series finale game. I guess the few freepers that also boycott Hollywood didn’t affect their TV ratings either
In the meantime, in my house, the NFL is already dead, as in completely.
And that's all I need to know.
I didn’t see it. Looked it up, I don’t even know who Kendrick Lamar is, and usually I at least know who folks are. Must be getting old.
Not the topic of discussion. You bet me that my assertions would prove false in the long run. I showed you they are not and will not, than indeed when compared to the industry the NFL is holding pretty well. What you need to know is how to admit you were wrong.
I don’t think that explains all the empty seats, though.
I’m one. And I’ll never start watching again. Not even the superbowl.
Traitors!
As a once marketing guy here, it just amazes me how out of touch the NFL management is with their fans or really, paying customers. IMO, I believe it's systemic. It comes from the people coming from our leftist indoctrinating centers or colleges, then going to run these institutions, corporations, and companies.
Businesses are there to make money so eventually they are going to have to figure out the leftist indoctrination coming from our colleges is a huge problem.

I didn't know who he was either, and believe me, you haven't missed anything.
Most of the empty seats are either at terrible teams, or very early in halves. Once things get rolling, at least if the game with teams that don’t suck, the seats are full. It’s a whole timing thing and largely fake.
When I am, I will.
It’s early yet.
What I will admit is that if you’re proven correct, it’s more to the shame of our increasingly milquetoast citizenry.
And that’s all the time I care to waste on this.
It ain’t early at all. This trend has been hitting the networks for years, it finally caught up to the NFL last year as it dramatically accelerated for the rest of TV.
Nothing milquetoast about it. If there’s milquetoast here it’s people getting their panties in a bunch because a dozen idiots kneel.
Read my post #34. As a long time Chiefs fan, who has gone to games at the end of the year during a playoff drive and have gone to playoff games, I've never seen anything like that. One of the reasons the Chiefs can sell out easily, is there is some of the most well-to-do counties in this country around KC. From my long-time observation, this is not normal for KC.

Of course the Chiefs went on a 1-6 skid in mid-season, and were only in the “drivers seat” for their division because the rest of the division stinks. They aren’t actually a good team, and won’t be until they fire Reid, the league’s most overrated coach (OK that might be McCarthy).
Attendance is another one where all sports are suffering. Again young people. They aren’t into preplanning sports, and they never hit their seats. When they go to sports they show up part way through, buy the cheapest ticket available, and hang out in the concourse.
We’ll see what the season ticket wave holds, but so far none of the NFL’s woes are exclusive to the NFL, and for the most part the other sports are suffering them worse and for longer. That’s the real hidden power of the NFL. MLB, NHL, Nascar and NBA have been having all these problems for the last 5 years or more, NFL only started having them last year. The momentum of the sea change finally caught up with them.
Attendance at NBA games is at record levels, across the board. It has been increasing every year since 2012. So if NFL butts in seats is down, that's significant.
Realistically, that's 7 Super Bowls in 15 years with Brady as QB. Hard not to watch if you love the game. And absolutely impossible to ever see happen again. History is made every time this 40-year-old phenom takes the field.
Amazing, and he's a Trump fan, too. Go figure, huh?
Real winners love winners.
Not really. NBA seems to be outlying on some of this stuff. They’re ratings are up also. Which is weird because with the Warriors Cavs dynasties the NBA has become easily the least interesting of all the major sports, since we all know ahead of time that barring injury they’re meeting for the 4th time in a row in the finals this year. And we’re still not really sure what’s going on with the NFL attendance. People have pictures, but depending on timing pictures can mean nothing, meanwhile nobody was unexpectedly blacked out this season. And we haven’t gotten the 2017 revenues yet, revenues climbed a billion dollars last year though, I don’t expect a drop.
I don’t know why you are trying to downplay or sugarcoat this. I’ve been going to Chiefs games for a long time. In fact, I was at the last home playoff game they actually won which was in 1993 and understand what it takes to get tickets to the games.
This year’s Chiefs had actually rebounded by the home stretch drive. They were also facing division rivals in 2 of those games which, at the time, still had a shot at the playoffs. My observations pointed out how it’s not normal for the Chiefs from situations like this from the past.
While what you say may be true going on around the country, the Kansas City area has some of the richest counties in the country. It’s usually not a problem filling the stadium which is why I was so surprised with my long-time observations and cheap tickets. If KC is having problems filling Arrowhead during a playoff drive/playoffs, from my perspective, the NFL has done a lot of damage to itself.

I would not be so sure about that. I had a Fantasy Football league fold up before the start of the season because the commissioner could not support “the racist NFL” anymore. He derived that the NFL was racist because Kaepernick had not gotten a gig prior to the start of the season. There are such loonies out there, buddy.
