ESPN’s presentation of the epic College Football Playoff National Championship between Georgia and Alabama (Jan. 8 at 8 p.m.) delivered a massive 16.7 overnight on its Nielsen-rated networks (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU) as part of its MegaCast production, up 9% from last season’s thrilling College Football Playoff National Championship on the same three Nielsen-rated networks. The ESPN-only presentation delivered a monster 16.0 overnight for the Crimson Tide’s overtime victory, up 8% from the ESPN-only presentation last season, a game which featured a dramatic, last minute touchdown to win the game.

That’s why he is no longer at ESPN. ESPN wanted an SEC only matchup. They are partners with the SEC...they paid $2.5 Billion for that partnership. They want titles so then people will watch their exclusive SEC coverage.

And fits with why they engineered Ohio State losing by 30 points to Iowa. All part of their sinister plan.
That’s what happens when you play in the toughest conference. Kind of like the SEC used to be, back when LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Georgia were actually good.
I don’t even thing the SEC finished at .500 in bowl games this year.

Football is not an individual sport. If we were going based on players in the pros LSU would be #1 or #2, but they are far from it. See it makes no sense. Not even SEC biased fanboys would claim LSU is near the top 5 in football teams. But they are typically #1 or #2 in total players in the NFL.

Bowls are based on expected attendance and competition
Only four of the bowls in your vaunted big ten consisted of ranked big ten playing anyone of consequence
And it’s a matter of local availability audience expectations and what the favored team expects to gain
The playoffs are another matter once top four are determined
