LG has developed a 65-inch OLED screen that can be rolled up like a newspaper.
In 2016, the firm announced the worlds first 18-inch rollable display at CES in Las Vegas and now, theyve more than tripled its size.
The incredible new flexible screen will be showcased alongside a staggering 88-inch 8K OLED display at the tech show this year.

Ping.
Can we just stop?
Kind of a natural progression. You’ll bring your rolled-up TV to the party like you used to bring a boombox or a CD player.
?
Get back to me when I can fold it up and put it in my back pocket.
Why ?
FTR, a 65-inch screen is 13 times bigger than an 18-inch screen.
Why not?
C’mon, Scientists! It’s 2017 and I’ve been WAITING for my Flying Car since 1960! Get on the stick! I want my Flying Car, not a ‘propaganda machine’ that I can roll into a tube!
Yeesh! No one listens to me...
American tech is generations ahead of what you think...
They’ve only let it trickle down because of its implications on society. We’re in for a ride now...
I think television is doomed, if trends continue.
But the exact same technology, I bet, will in fact take over the computer industry.
But not just roll-up. I think they’ll produce something which you can crunch down to a VERY small size, put in your pocket even, then pull it out, unroll it, and watch it full-sized when you want.
Oh well .. I have my last tv, prolly.
I think these advancements are great.
On screen size — I think there is a point where some of these screens are getting too large for practical use in my home. This is no problem. I can just purchase smaller ones. I realize the large ones are needed for larger homes and venues.
So if the dog gets on the furniture, you can roll up the TV and slap it against your palm and say ‘down’.
this is our future.
Entire walls will be displays.
Looks like self-driving cars will be here before flying cars. Depending on which expert you believe, we are between 8 and 30 years away from fully autonomous vehicles on the highways.
The insertable corneal screen coming soon. Will work like a heads up display.
“Burn the land and boil the sea; you can’t take the sky from me!” ;)
Next, we’ll be able to paint it on a building
