Star Trek: The Next Generation actor Jon Paul Steuer died on Monday, aged 33.

The child star, who soared to fame playing Alexander Rozhenko in the Eighties show, passed away on New Year's Day however the cause of death has not been confirmed, according to reports in Oregon newspaper Willamette Week.

After his years of acting as a child star, Jon went on to forge a career as a musician and restaurateur as he bowed out of the spotlight - however tributes still poured in for the star from loyal Star Trek fans who remember the star from the show

Jon Paul was the first actor to play Alexander Rozhenko before the role was scooped by stars including Brian Bonsall, Jon Paul Steuer, Marc Worden and James Sloyan, who all played the Klingon weapons officers in different versions of the franchise.

When news of his death surfaced, the official Facebook account for the show wrote a tribute reading: 'Rest in Peace, Jon Paul Steuer, the first actor to play Alexander in TNG. You will be deeply missed.'

Wait. He "scooped" the role from himself?

Judging from one of the photos I would say it was drugs and alcohol.

With that makeup it was hard to tell the race of the Klingon actors. Plenty were White and plenty were Black, AFAIK.

Anyway, I had forgotten someone had the role before Brain Bonsall (best known from Familty Ties)

RIP

I always thought it ridiculous puny little White actors would play the son of Michael Dorn’s Worf (although the mother was a “White” Klingon) when you know any kids he had would’ve looked like a college football player by age 7.

The mother was half human as I recall.

Alexander did look like a young adult by his teens on DS9.

They had a different (3rd) actor succeeding the puny Brian Bonsall on DS9 (he was only 10-12 during the time he played him). That last actor, Marc Worden, was 21 when he played him in DS9.

I remember laughing the first time I saw Andy Keaton as Worf’s son. I thought that was BAD casting. I didn’t even remember the first kid to play him (the subject of the thread), but he looked a bit like Bonsall, actually. In fact, the photo of him at the top of the thread I thought WAS Brian Bonsall.

You do realize he's made up to look like a Klingon boy, right?

Regardless, why say such a thing at this particular moment?

So, "Discovery" is back. Spoiler alert. Scroll over to read Mirror Universe!!!!!!!!, Klingon Sleeper Agent, Dead homo, the mid-season premiere was actually good. And it's better not paying for it too. All Hail Captain Killy!

I have Amazon Prime, although I don’t use it as much as I should, and I learned I can watch the Gay Trek with the subscription. Not gonna do it.

You can watch on Amazon Prime but you still have to pay the CBS bastards 10 bucks a month.

I get HBO for 10 bucks a month! CBS All Access is not worth the money, especially not the 6 bucks a month WITH ADS version. Better to go the yo ho ho and a bottle of rum route, I can help if you ever do want to see it. I just friggin love the mirror universe, I was so hoping they would include it.

Amazon Prime on the other hand, definitely worth the money.

BTW, I don't know if I told you but I saw "Faux Trek: Beyond" a while back. Garbage, boring cliched plot that was so easy to guess the stupid 'twist". I don't understand why they can't find a writer that can write an actual plot instead of having a huge budget movie with a story that's weaker than the average TNG two-parter, any one of us 3 could churn out fan faction better than that crap, action fest, I don't even remember the action it couldn't have been anything special. Discovery at least has some semblance of a story.
