Before his season was ended by a knee injury, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was making news for his playmaking ability.
Tuesday, the MVP candidate made headlines with his response to a Twitter user who was critical of a hunting photo he posted to wish one of his dogs a happy birthday.

We never use to have them and now we do.
Anytime you bring an animal into a new area you risk over population because there are no predators.
And I know my 2 hunting dogs are waiting for me in heaven so we can go chukar hunting again, that is if God is not hunting with them on that day.
I miss my 2 best hunting partners, Lucy and Sadie, German shorthair pointers.
I’m telling you, it’s the sediment ponds due to the damn environmental whackos insisting we “save the waterways” or whatever.
MD is not supposed to have any real lakes. We had a few “artificial” lakes in my childhood, for sure. But it’s exploded due to these damn hippies so worried about “The Environment”(TM) that they just end up exchanging problems. They worried about housing developments creating watershed problems.
Now we have an explosion of geese staying year-round. So much so we hardly have any mallard ducks left as they chase them out.
Idiots.
As others have observed, many of them have stopped migrating and made themselves at home year-round in the suburbs. They’re dangerous around the college: there are signs up in the spring that say, “Aggressive geese! Do not provoke!”
folks who hunt without the aid of dogs are missing out on one of the greatest way to enjoy nature. hunting at night as we do...man o man what sights and sounds you miss not being out at 2am. looking forward to the next shooting star show. We will decoy yotes after the fur season for our daylite fun until next fur season.
Soon as I started reading the article my mind went to the city I spent most of my life in
and just moved away from last March... Kitchener, Ontario.
I had an apartment right next to Victoria Park, close to the city core.
The park was full of geese and it was nigh impossible not to step in goose poop when I took the dogs for a walk.
I read the comments, scrolling down until I came to that cartoon.
It sure caught my attention, I thought, holy goose crap,
that looks like the clock tower of the old city hall that was moved to Victoria Park.
I googled the artist and sure enough. http://falseknees.com/237.html
"I've started doing a little comic once a month for a local (to Kitchener-Waterloo) newspaper called The Community Edition."
Here's a couple of photos of the park...
I got hissed at there more times than I can count.
I always considered my dogs to be world class athletes for all of the varying terrain we would hunt, hour after hour, and they never complained. I would pack 3 three gallons of water just for them. I would take out people who never hunted behind professionally trained dogs to give them that once in a lifetime experience.
Nice picture - but would be much better to have those birds sliced up by a wind turbine....
“...and they never complained.”
And they covered five times the distance you did!
Classy response.
At least that, and with blood dripping from their tongues from scratching through the brambles. Their reward was a fresh pheasant heart and liver after they retrieved. Other rewards were bite sized Snickers.
Part of the problem with Canada geese is they lay huge clutches of eggs. I remember reading somewhere that volunteers could “oil” some of the eggs in a nest so they would not hatch, but leave 2 or 3 viable so there was not another attempt at egg-laying. Not sure if that would work, but my guess is some enviro-weenies protested this action. We have several small parks by us that are pretty much unusable by families with small children due to the aggressive and filthy geese, very sad.
On the Carson Wentz topic— I’m a Philly girl and I just adore him! (as much for his football skills as for his love for Jesus) — but in typical Philly fashion. we are doomed as soon as it looks like we might have a winning team. Maybe Billy Penn really is getting his revenge for those stupid sky-scrapers.
Leftist PETA thug.
We used to have a Golden and a Cockatiel. One day the Bird flew across the room. The Golden caught it in her mouth and brought it to me unharmed
You ever hunt them with dogs and a pickup?
It’s a big problem here. They try that and drones, netting them and hunters. Just about everything.
Another bird menace [for me as a kayaker] are the mute swans. They attack like pit bulls. [especially the ones along the CT shoreline]. I wish they would open a hunting season for them.
Canadian geese, don’t attack [at least not in my experience]
Our climate here in Connecticut doesn’t allow a hunting dog to work year round. Have to do it by season.
Can’t tell you how many duck wings I have in my freezer for *training* Gag!
