The Texas Department of Criminal Justice initially said 45 prisoners in administrative segregation had begun a hunger strike but TDCJ spokesman Robert Hurst said Tuesday the number stood at 37... The inmates participating in the hunger strike are housed at the Allred Unit in Iowa Park, outside Wichita Falls. Hurst says they began refusing meals on Christmas, but that some have food items in their cells that they purchased from the commissary. He says the inmates have complained about recreational time, food portions and the temperature.

Great news for taxpaying Texans. They hope the end is not too painful.
They should get Beans ,nothing but Beans
At least they haven’t complained about conjugal visits. Must be getting enough.
PING
(I say let the bastards starve!!)
Bring freshly cooked turkeys, dressing, and lots of fresh warm bread and eat outside their cells.
Boo-shut-the-f*ck-up-hoo!
That’s what they would have had for Christmas Day and New Years Day. The prison goes all out for holiday meals.
It’s prison, not a hotel. Deal with it, you spoiled brats.
Sardines and oatmeal
I am from Iowa Park and complainin is their only game
Feed em fish eyes and rice
Works for me. Let ‘em starve.
Give ‘em Mussolini castor oil cocktails until they beg for mercy. Then after they’ve cleaned up the mess, bread and water for the rest of their terms.
That’s what I eat! But never together.
And tomato juice. Lots of tomato juice.
Remember the Officers ONLY have to offer them meals. It is up to the Offender to accept the meal or not!
The same goes for the Rec!
Just more paper work for the Officers and LT! Most people outside of TDCJ, couldn’t care less!
Prison Admin. should adopt an approach similar to “zero based budgeting”, only with food. Determine how little the criminals need to survive on, and establish that as the new maximum for food allotment.
If they are not hungry enough to eat, I’m okay with that.
When they get hungry enough they will eat. If not then it is their choice.
“Clean out their cells, and give them a daily ration of lutefish.”
