The flu is now considered widespread across Minnesota (and elsewhere).
In other words, the flu virus has been reported at hospitals all over the state.
Many hospitals are placing restrictions on visitors to stop the spread.
The numbers are why the Minnesota Department of Health has declared influenza and respiratory illness widespread,
which means hospitals will be placing restrictions on visitors to protect patients and staff. (Emphasis mine)

Therell be boxes of masks and hand sanitation cleanser at each of those entrances associated with each of those signs, Dr. Rhame said.
The restrictions begin Jan. 2 for Allina Health hospitals, and will stay in effect until the flu is no longer widespread throughout the state.
As of this week, Allina has admitted 120 patients with influenza, and over 870 people have tested positive for the flu.

flu vaccine a bit less effective this year..
Two words
colloidal silver
kills all viruses
It looks like this epidemic isn't just the flu. Minnesota took a lot of refugees from the middle east - I wonder what kind of bugs they brought with them.
“flu vaccine a bit less effective this year..”
Really less effective for those who didn’t have an injection and waited until now for their flu shot.
As usual in California, the flu kicks off with Thanksgiving with all of the travel for that holiday and college kids being off.
Then, it kicks into high gear about the week before Christmas with all the travel and again college kids flying and driving home for the holidays.
Throw in all of the air plane travel in flying germ pools aka air planes from all over America and the rest of the world to really jump/kick start the flu season with new variations of the flu virus.
My wife and I visited our local Kaiser health care clinic for the end of the calendar year sale on eye glasses and contact lenses.
Their line to get flu shots was huge. Also, it is too late for any good immunization. Many sounded like they had the beginnings of their personal flu and were sharing with others in the line.
My understanding is that the vaccine manufactures play the odds as to which variant of the virus will be prevelent each year.
In most instances, the vaccine is 40 %- 60% effective; some times they call it right, other times, not so much.
The CDC recommends getting the flu shot, regardless, since they state that even if you catch the flu, it will lessen the symptoms and effects.
I’ve heard the best tracker of the flu that has been found is google.
The number of people googling up flu symptoms is apparently a fantastic indicator of where it’s spreading.
FLU NEAR YOU. Type in zip code.

I think stoping all nonessential people into hospitals is probably the best way to go about it until it ends. Just have nurses, doctors and patients and that is it.
The flu vaccine is TEN PERCENT effective this year. You could hang an onion around your neck, as they did in pioneer times, and get better results because it would keep people 6’ away from you, thus cutting contact with the virus.

colloidal silver

><
My son had the flu and the colloidal silver worked wonders for him.
I understand that it takes about 2 weeks after you get the flu shot
for the body's immune system to kick in
and provide through protection from that variant of the virus.
through = thorough
How?
Can’t be. Every drug store, discount store, grocery store and popsicle stand has signs out offering free flu shots.
How?
Went to Dr and gave me a penicillin shot-a shot not oral. Said that this one is just a step better than the spanish flu and are worried about it morphing into that.
Had some young people that have died from this one around her.
They are hitting it hard. OH I know, penicillin isnt good for fighting viruses and all that, but the day after I got that shot, it started to break and went to a standard productive cough and all the after effects.
BTW, he ordered me NOT to take OTC cough medicines. Use musinex, 800 ML advil a day and a anti histamine.
Lots of metals kill germs on contact. That’s why I like to see brass handles on doors. But the colloidal silver can turn you into a Smurf. Be careful.
