This was the year that brought us Salt Bae, Prosecco-flavoured everything and more vegan options than ever.
But while those viral food trends are here to stay, other much weirder fads are bound to be consigned to history.
Coffees in cones, cakes that look like raindrops, naturally pink chocolate and cloud eggs were just some of the zany foods that had spells in the spotlight in 2017, according to Twitter.
But though they were all the rage on Instagram for a time, it's predicted that these foods certainly won't be on the table in 2018.

I feel the same way. Id rather dot my mayo with siracha than buy the siracha flavored ones. It was a good sauce before it became cool!
Ok, I want to watch it now. I love cooking movies. And I havent seen too many of them.
Your nose was appropriately glued to TV showings of our president. Unicorn ice cream and spaghetti donuts were too far out of your peripheral vision. And who was the happier person - you or the donut eater!
My mouth watered through Soul food.
YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Julie and Julia! My absolute favorite! No idea HOW many times I’ve watched and rewatched it.
I am so happy to have our President. No way a spaghetti donut could make anyone happier. Thanks for that persepctive!
I keep watching my Trump video when I have a few minutes, and just sigh. I absolutely ADORE that man!

Thanks for the “East Side Sushi” recommendation.
We may never get to try it. Pink (or ruby) chocolate, the all-natural creation of a Swiss chocolatier, is running afoul of the FDA's strict definition of what can be called "chocolate" whether milk, dark, or white.
Yeah, it really is good and takes place in Oakland.
You won’t know, unless you’ve been.
Recommending it to several friends...
Marianne's in Santa Cruz makes it. They make some of the BEST ice cream around the SF Bay Area and Monterey Bay. Their Macadamia Nut and Huckleberry ice creams are SO good.
Just had a scoop of garlic ice cream here at the outlets in Gilroy.
Yuhmmmm....
Like I needed that after eating salami’s and Spanish chorizo for lunch...
The best omelette I ever ate, and I ate it every day I was there, was in Oakland. And I still miss it. It was a local chain and this one was a mile or so from our hotel through a really bad part of town. Worth the scary walk.
Heck yeah, I like it on eggs, too. My wife also gets these Indian sauces and cooks it over cubed chicken. Really good but it’s not hot enough, I like Indian with heat. A little sriracha in there really does the trick! Actually this is for the best, my wife and daughter don’t want the heat but I do. They get their touch of heat, I upgrade mine with a hit of sriracha and everybody’s happy.
Love some of those hole in the wall places.
Cracks me up when I take people to them.
They think of me as high end and high maintenance.
Well, I am but, I love to experience off the beaten path people, food, cultures and experience.
Found a BBQ place in downtown Oakland that blows away that world famous Everett & Jones but, the guy is happy with his lil place and personally, I like it’s homey feel.
You just feel better after being there than you did before.
Terrific family and I refuse to reveal their name.
It’s my little heaven.
Actually, I have no idea what the name of the place is, just how to get there.
There is a Mac & Cheese place on the other side of Oakland.
Pain the Azzz to find parking but, that place is the bomb, if you like Mac & Cheese.
It’s called “Homeroom” and when I have time to look for parking I love grabbing a bite.
Look it up
And you can actually see the spaghettification going on as you approach the ring singularity!
Still would rather watch those than the latest incarnation of the Food Network's Iron Chef. Besides the fix being in for the home team, they've added too many ICs that aren't all that innovative, let alone likable as performers.
I'm still ticked that they were so inbred (in lieu of nepotistic) to arrange for never-take-a-chance Guarnaschelli to win over other creative chefs like Falkner.
No clear pumpkin pie?
The spaghetti doughnut actually looks good, everything else looks like crap
