Actually some Iranians do not like to be called Iranians. They call themselves Persians. Well, the world ‘Iran’ has nothing to do with Islam(it is actually a more nationalist term,) but since Islamic Revolution in Iran, it carries Islamic connotation. Those who are against Islamic regime do not want to be associated with the word.
