This bowl season was one that Pac-12 teams would not mind forgetting. With three-fourths of the conference headed to bowl games, there was potential for the Pac-12 to have an impressive showing and prove that despite not having a team qualify for the College Football Playoff, it is still one of the better Power-5 conferences. Instead, Utah was the only one of the nine teams to win its bowl game and the Pac-12 ended the bowl season with the worst record ever for a Power-5 Conference for an entire bowl season.

It is one big echo chamber, just like when they all said Hillary couldn’t lose. For a Big 10 Champion to not be in is a joke.
The precedent for a Big10 champion not to be in the playoffs was set last year...
judging a football team is selective by whose judging, however the NFL gives us a measurable tool to use to determine which conferences are producing the most desired pro players And over the past at least 10 years the SEC has by far had the most drafted players. Hard to argue which a measurable FACT.
I’m not espousing some conspiracy theory, and I would be more inclined to bray’s echo chamber than outright collusion.
call it what you will, but it’s bullshit either way.
Well then Ohio State is #1 then. Nearly every year they finish #1 or #1 in draft picks to the NFL.
Current NFL players by college: Ala 44, OSU 41, LSU 49. Sorry!!
Last year NFL draft by conference, SEC 309, ACC 239, Big 10 224, Pac12 220, Big 12 132. Goes back that way consistently for at least 10 years. SEC way ahead by any measure!! And yes OSU is always looked at as being #1 by just such metrics.
Check out 1st round picks ;-)
Personally Clemson’s lose to Syracuse should have kept them out of playoffs and OSU should be there as#4 instead.
Some times even with the greatest players you still lose, LOL. That’s why they play the GAME and it gives us a chance to sound like experts, LOL
True. But I still hate ESPN. Liberals that love the sec.
Good point everyone hold OSUs loss to Iowa as not worthy but Clemson lost to Syracuse.
New Years Bowl pickz
Wolverines over the Gamecocks in the Outback bowl
UCF pulls it off and beats Auburn in the Peach Bowl
The Irish over LSU Citrus Bowl
And in our playoff semis
The Sooners top the Bulldogs in the Rose Bowl
And the Tide roll over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, a little silly that the SEC Champs aren’t in the Sugar Bowl
You don't seem to realize how few college players have an opportunity to go pro. Most of those who start will never see an NFL practice squad.
But to your question, I don't choose to hold out anyone because I wouldn't deign to decide that for someone else, but I do respect the decision of anyone to not risk an opportunity at life changing income to participate in a bowl game.
I think of Jake Butt, playing for the Wolverines against my alma mater last season. He decide to play his senior year when he was predicted a second round draft pick. He had a great season and was a solid pick. Suffered a torn ACL and nerve damage that immobilized his leg initially in an Orange Bowl that meant nothing. He got a 5th round pick out of Denver, but is still on IR. He may never play again. At a minimum the injury has already cost him millions. For what exactly?
I like it. Many NFL players might want to sneak in to play.
UCF is definitely making their case today against Auburn.
UCF - The ONLY unbeaten in college football!
If I had a vote, UCF finishes #2.
Looks like the committee messed up big time. Based on UCF beating auburn and all the SEC losses and Big10 wins... Alabama and Georgia should be replaced by UCF and Ohio state.
