GOP lawmaker calls for Mueller recusal: 'His witch hunt must end'

An Arizona Republican is calling on special counsel Robert Mueller to recuse himself from the investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia in an op-ed published Wednesday.

Writing in USA Today, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) said Mueller's investigation has gone "far beyond the scope of his original charge."

"Unfortunately, taxpayer resources are being used to scrutinize anyone and anything that fits into a preconceived notion that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign to 'fix the election,' " Biggs said.

"Mueller has demonstrated he is incapable of leading a focused, unbiased review of his initial assignment," he added. "His witch hunt must end."

We know Trump is just playing this fool but the charade has to end. It’s just pathetic. He’s worse than the house guest who overstays his welcome.

Why didn’t they AT LEAST require monthly or quarterly progress reports? Make Mueller accountable for what he has (or has not) found to-date.

Someone on TV last week, maybe on Tucker, said that if they get rid of Mueller, they’ll have to appoint someone else, and that someone else will have to appoint a new team, and then they’ll have to start all over.

That’s a touch call.

Rosenstein could call for a review of where they’re at and whether they should go forward.

I agree with you.

Something to consider here is that Mueller's indictments to date all involve people and criminal accusations that would be considered part and parcel of "The Swamp" by any objective measure. And by this I mean specifically the illicit foreign lobbying activities of various Swamp denizens like Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn and anyone else who is potentially named in a sealed indictment.

If this is the extent of Mueller's work, then it would be hypocritical for any Trump supporter to suggest there's something underhanded about the whole thing.

Just end it. It’s only there to help the Dems win and lower Trump’s ratings.

'His witch hunt must end'

End? No! Redirect it to the REAL witch and her actions over the last 20+ years!

I really doubt that Meuller is hanging himself and there is a large percentage of the population who believe that the investigation continues because there is real (or imagined) grounds for it (as stupid as that seems). For that reason alone, it needs to end. Also, the investigation is an unnecessary distraction and expense.

Mueller isn’t paying any attention to media reports, and has the same budget and support from his superiors as ever. He’s continuing to gather as much information and testimony against Trump and his family as he can. If not to impeach him, to be used against him to prevent his re-election. From today as well:

Mueller is reportedly zeroing in on the Trump campaign’s data operation — and the RNC

http://www.businessinsider.com/mueller-questions-rnc-digital-operation-trump-campaign-russia-2017-12

Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly begun to question Republican National Committee staffers about the party’s digital work with the Trump campaign last year.

The report indicates that Mueller may be homing in on yet another facet of Russia’s election interference — its social media influence campaign and targeted political advertising.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner managed the Trump campaign’s data operation and recently hired a crisis public relations firm to handle all press inquiries.

If this is the extent of Mueller's work

It's not, obviously. He's digging through the Trump family financial records, and per the report I linked above, even now digging through records at the RNC. The goal is to impeach Trump. If that fails, gather as much opposition research as possible to take him down in the next election. All paid for with tax dollars.

If Mueller recuses himself he will then face the wrath of George Soros, the Clintons and the deep state. He’s not going to recuse, if anything, under this attack questioning his own culpability in this fraudulent investigation, he’ll stick to the ploy and dig in and double down. Literally, this probe is a fight to the death of the NWO pukes and President Trump.

There we go with articles providing information from unnamed "sources" again.

I'm referring to factual, verifiable information about Mueller's work. That involves several indictments at this point in time.

It's interesting that the report you cited references an article from Forbes magazine about Jared Kushner's role in the Trump campaign. I pegged that article as 100% B.S. when it was posted here months ago by Freepers who claimed that it was evidence of Kushner's exceptional political genius.

The President is clearly under siege, from a variety of angles. Those suggesting he should simply sit back and suffer the consequences, on the false hope that Jeff Sessions or Robert Mueller of all people is going to save him, clearly either don’t care, or want to see him go down. From 2 hours ago:

Federal prosecutors in New York are examining a $285 million loan that Deutsche Bank AG made one month before election day last year to the real-estate company run by the family of Jared Kushner, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Wrong quote, since I know you’re concerned about sources. Here is the quote that goes with the link:

Federal prosecutors have requested records related to a $285 million loan that Deutsche Bank gave Jared Kushner’s family real estate company one month before Election Day, the company confirmed this week.

And every day Mueller and his team’s bias and conflicts of interest grows...

Along with their possible crimes.

Note the irony of having an AG who recuses himself at the drop of a dime and Mueller and Rosenstein who seemingly couldn't recognize a conflict of interest if it bit them on the keister?

Greg Jarrett of FNC has been saying that about needing to start over.

Not advocating this as a solution, just mentioning who has been saying it.

What's most telling there is that the request for the Deutsche Bank records came from the Federal district of New York, not Mueller's team.

If you want to tell me that Jared Kushner and his family are under constant scrutiny by Federal prosecutors, I'll certainly buy that. His father Charles is a convicted felon, they are big players in a New Jersey real estate environment that is riddled with corruption, and that whole family probably deserves every bit of scrutiny they get.
