A wonder material as flexible as tinfoil but hard enough to stop a speeding bullet has been created in the lab.
Diamene is made using two layers of graphene, the world's first two-dimensional material which is just one atom thick, a million times thinner than human hair.
Such a substance could be used for anything from water-resistant protective coatings to ultra-light bulletproof armour.

Saw this and thought about your invention......
Hope your day is a good one.
As smart as these scientists are, they don’t know bullets actually LEAVE cases when fired. I’ve sent a lot of rounds in my day, and I’ve never seen one leave a muzzle with the case still on it.

Interesting.
Bad artist - taking artist license too far.
That is so funny. Really good catch.
I’d be more impressed if they said it got harder than a liberal’s head when faced with facts....
This_Dude is probably right on. It’s an artist who knows what a bullet looks like from watching them put into guns on TV, but has never seen one shot into a bowling pin, for example, where it becomes obvious what’s left behind.
They don’t have diamonds in them either. The difference is I know they aren’t serious...
Looks like the artist made the error, not necessarily one of the scientists.
Scale’s all wrong, too.
I noticed that too. Ella Maru needs to watch the Cartridge vs Bullet journalist tutorial.
Sounds like another miracle material “just right around the corner”...
That’s one of those just-in-case bullets
from what I’ve seen the hard part of graphene like carbon nanotubes is to produce it in bulk.
Got to wonder at the idea of using something hard as a diamond which shatters when hit...........
That’s probably so the average viewer can say, “Hey, that’s a bullet!”
I’ve never seen an oscillating electric fan or AC blowing plastic streamers to show that it’s on, but you see them in the movies and on TV all the time.
Merry Christmas!
