Always wanted an old classic, this one has been sitting in a barn for over 30 years.
Thanks
Merry Christmas...
My friend’s family had one of those when I was a kid.
Great car for family trips.
Thanks!
Nice.
It is. My father sold it to my uncle in the late 80s, and my uncle gave it to me when my father died.
Other than what appears to be merely surface rust since I don’t seen any body damage or rust perforations, and other the vinyl top being dry rotted, it’s remarkably intact with no damage.
I especially like the OEM AM/FM with those knobs that match the rest of the dash hardware, wow they’re art in and of themselves. Careful with updating the electrical system, you could render it inoperable. I’d imagine that brocade upholstery that has a little sun fade can be redyed since it appears to be in very good shape otherwise.

Just reflecting on 1968. That was the year (Feb.) I was honorably discharged from active duty-Army.
First thing I bought a 1960 Comet from a friend’s father’s car lot. Fun car.
My brother ended up with his FIL’s old 1956 Holiday, and of course it became mine as he hadn’t any use for it. Over 300k mi, and ran like a bandit.
The Comet went down to a smoking ticket, and I bought a 1963 Grand Prix to take it’s place as the Olds was in the possession of a friend at the time, and I really wanted that Pontiac.
I tore down the Comet engine, rebuilt it, cleared the ticket, and now had three cars.
Then came the C-110 Honda.
That was my 1968. It was a year to remember.
...'remember he totaled it shortly after, too(heh).
Thanks for your service, Merry Christmas!
Does that have the 455 Rocket in it? Fantastic motor. Torque monster.
I had a 67 4 dr sedan 98 with the 425 v8. For a big car, it could really move out from the red lights.
That’s a sled, not a car!
I asked Santa for more ammo.
Looks like it should be a fun restore. Take LOTS of pictures as you disassemble to help you on the reassemble side.
Yup, 455 and it runs like a champ. After sitting for over 30 years it cranked right up, didn’t even have to do anything with the carb.

You can’t park tat thing, you have to ‘dock’ it..
I see no need to take it apart except for maybe the trim for the repaint job.
Lucky you! The Mustang I found needs going through from one end to the other. I’m currently rebuilding the doors and updating the wiring system.
About the only thing it needs is the window seals because of it being a hard top and a new heater core. I located some r-12 to recharge the A/C. Even after sitting for 30 years there was still a slight charge of freon in the system
