Lookie, Lookie, Lookie, The Hollywood film industry is headed for the trash bin. Just like the Democrat Party is in self-destruction mode...so is the Hollywood Cabal of political nutcases, crumbling.
Yes, Netflix, Streaming are hurting...but the downfall of the USA film industry is very much being helped to failure and poor performance in both revenue income and ticket sales by poor product and even worse poor choice of politics. Going through life as an avid Left-Wing, Progressive, Hate America, Democrat carries little positive political reward.
Even Rupert Murdoch was wise enough to dump his film activity onto Disney. Murdoch certainly knew and realized that Fox News Channel & Fox Business News, CXable TV channels, where the goose that keeps laying the golden eggs of huge profits, was the income producing gem of his empire.
Until the political aura of the "lost in space" Hollywood ego maniacs, grasp reality, the downward trend of the USA film industry will continue, unabated.

Having such a position is not only within the movie industry, although they do get more attention due to their heavy dependence on “publicity” to keep their names and faces in the lime light.
Once you understand that the bulk of movies made today are not primarily geared for American consumption, but for the Chinese market, then the garbage product that they are producing makes sense.

There are some wonderful Asian films that far outshine anything our pathetic industry tends to make. Our stupid super hero and franchise films, however, are very popular in Asian countries - but they’re popular all over the world. I can’t explain it. Global bad taste? Interest in all-things-American? It’s just like the wall-to-wall coverage on some foreign networks during our election, which made me think: “Huh? What’s this about? We don’t even really CARE who wins YOUR elections... why do you care so much about OURS?”.
Still, it would be nice to see all those overpaid leftist idiots in Hollywood (Tom Hanks and Jodie Foster being the newest to the “once liked” list) out of work.

It’s not just the fantasy aspect. If any of the stars is a known lib and/or Trump basher, I know with 100% certainty I will not help put money in his pocket. Where that money trickles from his pocket probably isn’t a good place.
I used to go to 5-10 movies a year. I haven’t been to the theater in years and your list is pretty much why.
Number 1 with a bullet is-
“Sick to death of the ultra-tough female leads.” which I see as part of homosexualization of the movies.
These female leads are men with women’s bodies. Unfortunately they’re very popular with young men so I don’t see that going away any time soon.
If they’d just shut up and sing.
Meh, been to three movies this month and two more planned — well the last one on Jan. 6 as part of extended family group.
One of them so crowded I ended up at the left end of the front row but I’d seen it before.
That’s one movie I’d like to see.
Video games, books, and exercise work well.

I’ve always been really picky about movies and never much of a movie goer.
I saw the latest Pirates of the Caribbean in the theater.
Right now, I can’t think of a single movie that I would like to see. I saw an ad for one that looked like it might be good—but then I saw that Woody Allen was part of it, and I’m not going to watch a movie featuring a pervert. There was another that looked good, but the IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes reviews were not good. I’d made a mental note to check the reviews once audiences had a chance to weigh in, but I’ve forgotten which movie it was.
So, meh. Tomorrow is Christmas. Not really feeling much in the mood because of personal stuff. We’ll probably watch Die Hard just to get into the spirit. No new movies this year.
Dunkirk was terrible and disjointed... Thankfully I didn’t waste a nickle watching it... 123movies dot something or other... Full HD from the comfort of my home. Going to the theater and wasting up to $100 dollars has and will come to a complete end... Soon theaters will be much like your local drive-in... They are out there here and there if you look hard, but they are very few and far between.
Last Jedi was horrible. My kids were actually angry about it. Such a betrayal of the series.
The biggest death knell for the movie industry is the absurd overload of political correctness that has to be present in every new movie....to the point of absurdity. While the movie industry has always taken artistic license when it comes to history, we have come to the point where you can’t watch a movie with the story set, say, in medieval times in England without the presence of a black, an Asian, a transgender and fifty per cent homosexual relationships. And, why the hell does every modern, American setting movie have to have an actor with a damn Australian accent? I mean, really? Are there that many Australians in the US? There are like 900 people living in Australia and over 100 million Americans in the US (my silly numbers, trying to make a point).
And let’s not forget the left wing agenda, man-made climate change, and every other political statement that Hollywood has to inject/indoctrinate into every movie.
Like the growing distaste mentioned above for the NFL, the rejection of everything Hollywood has been growing and growing for a much longer period of time. I haven’t been to a movie theater in years and don’t expect to be going any time soon.
Like the NFL, movies will never rebound. The football players and owners screwed themselves and the Hollywood elites have screwed themselves. Both of them major league dummies!!!
Trump effect. Everyone who takes on Trump, loses. There are plenty of examples.

Wife wanted to see that new musical with Hugh Jackman (Greatest Showman or show can't remember).
I could ignore the obvious bullshit of shoehorning in the "Rich WHite men are racist angle by using a minor character that had a love interest in a black circus performer and thus falls out with his RICH WHITE father. It just felt so contrived you were sitting there thinking "can we get the interesting people back on screen? The Circus people I mean."
But what ruined the whole experience for me is the sound system. it was all crushed into the midrange no highs zero bass and honestly I've heard a better result coming from a 1960s era drive-in theater speaker. And parts of it were so loud and with the system so screwed up it bordered on painful. I saw a mother and her two kids actually put their hands over their ears during the loudest most sonically offensive parts.
I spent 12 years in the music business playing and running various sound systems and I can tell you either their digital crossover was broken or someone worked hard fiddling with buttons to screw up the sound that bad. Default settings on that type of equipment would not have made that horrible sound. When we left I told my wife I would never enter that theater again. Because either they apparently don't care or just so f***ing stupid they have no clue how bad it was. Either way that is the last money that place gets from me.
Yep Wil Smith has had a bad run of movies not that he was bad in them the movies just sucked. Netflix has him in a new one called Bright, a Modern day fantasy movie. And I started watching it. Had to stop because the wife was baking and she wanted to see it but didn't have time so it would have ruined it for her to "half" see it. But I want to watch the rest because so far it is good and Smith is at his best with the snarky Cop/Buddy movie banter.
Netflix has had several good Movies they made. Pottersville was fun. And another I really enjoyed was "The Fundamentals of Caring" I laughed all the way through that one.
The photography was awesome sound was well done also, too bad they didn't have a script worthy of the effort. It just was meh.
