Womens magazines are an area that the conservative movement often overlooks. Theyve become political. And for many young, college-educated women in urban areas its their source of news. And yes, its entirely liberal.(snip)
Now, I dont read Teen Vogue of course, but The Wall Street Journals Jillian Kay Mechior gave a rundown and asked what the hell happened here:
Hillary Clinton expanded her already impressive résumé by guest-editing the issue that hit newsstands Dec. 5. It was a theme issue, with 36 pages devoted to a single subject: Hillary Clinton. Thats more than the 31 pages of ads in the 97-page magazine.
Mrs. Clinton commissioned several articles about herself. Staff writer Lauren Duca proclaims that zooming out on Hillarys 2016 loss reveals the broader contours of womens oppression, while Gloria Steinem says that when a woman is elected president, she will be climbing steps that were carved out by Hillary. The issue also features contributions from Chelsea Clinton and Betsy Ebeling, identified as Mrs. Clintons BFF.
Theres a two-page spread of Love Letters to Hill. Readers are assured they are personal notes selected from more than 100,000 post-election missives Mrs. Clinton received from young women, including singer Miley Cyrus and actresses Chloë Grace Moretz and Lena Dunham. The magazine helpfully advises: Read with tissues in hand!
Then theres Mrs. Clintons own love letter to Mrs. Clintonor rather, to Miss Rodham. Framed as advice to her 18-year-old self, it includes such tips as when president-elect Barack Obama says he wants to talk to you about a job opportunity in his cabinet, hear him out.

Mrs. Clintons guest-editorship is emblematic of Teen Vogues recent politicization. Last April, Condé Nast appointed 30-year-old Elaine Welteroth as editor in chief. She has presided over a magazine fixated on identity politics.

I was a great Ayn Rand fan until I read some of the totally sychophantic garbage she had her acolytes write abut her. Looks like the Witch is reaching a similar point of utter, psychotic conceit, a point even beyond Obola’s.
“Perhaps some women have trouble with cosmetics and achieving the certain look they wish to have? Maybe Hillary is one of those women?”
In her book the Witch said she spent about 6 hours a day on makeup during the campaign, probable one of her few truthful remarks. In mmany cases it was definitely a good job, probably one done by a master mortician.
Nothing new. Myrna Blyth wrote this book in 2004: "Spin Sisters: How the Women of Media Sell Unhappiness and Liberalism to the Women of America" (St. Martin's Press, 2004)
Crooked bought the DNC to promote herself as a candidate and failed spectacularly ..... now she’s bought a Teen Vogue issue for self-promotion as a female icon and I expect the result to be the same.
Ayn Rand was a complicated woman. She certainly had her faults. She thought her writings were very important and guarded and promoted them vigorously.
Not enough Shinola in the world...............
Judging by the looks, it looks like they confused it with sh........aving cream...be nice and clean....shave every day and you'll always look keen.
She has a new career in dwarf-tossing.
This reminds me that some Hillary supporters have blamed her make-up artist for her loss, saying something like she was made to look attractive but weak and fragile, not a strong woman.
Actually, they polish turds in Alaska all the time. At least they used to. Polished moose turds, shellacked them, and turned them in to souvenirs for tourists. Earrings, tops of swizzle sticks, etc. Woolworths had a whole section in the store.
An intellectual Murderer's Row....
Haha. Agreed.
Can’t polish a turd....
“donation in kind”
subject to FEC rules for Conde Nast?
According to the article “Mrs. Clinton commissioned several articles about herself.” so it sounds to me like she’s paying for enough of it that it wouldn’t be a donation.
