The royal, who married the Queen's first cousin, attended a Christmas banquet at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday wearing a blackamoor brooch. Prince Harry's fiancée, Meghan Markle, who is mixed-race, was also a guest at the lunch. A spokesman said the princess "is very sorry and distressed that it has caused offence". It’s a gorgeous brooch.
I guess when snow is consider racist so is someone wearing a broach with a likeness of someone of African decent.
"Sorry, not sorry!"
So a piece of jewelry that shows a black man decked out in extravagant royal finery is racist?
I wonder if she was also wearing black shoes - black shoes representing blacks being trod upon.
I'M gonn'a venture the guess the brooch is a sign of solidarity as opposed to rebellion and/or racism.
If you search “blackamoor brooch images” you will see that there is quite a variety available.

It is NOT racist
Indeed.
They have the likeness of fat negro ladies dressed in old timey red and white dresses and scarves on their heads. Some of them are green and white.
I call it my plantation and the fine ladies I call my "mammies." In the midst of my plantation, I have a framed picture of a drawing of a little negro boy in overalls with no shoes, running. The caption reads, "I'se a comin' mammy.I'se a comin"
Is that racist?
She was either trying to be deliberately rude, or she’s a fool. And those saying she shouldn’t have apologized definitely fall into both categories.
I wish I knew what the offending brooch looked like.

Picture at post #7.
She is lucky too be on the dole and offended to fiancé of the Queen’s grandson. For this, the Queen may cut back Princess Michael’s allowance.
That will save the taxpayers some money and Princess Michael of Kent can go back to being proud of her Nazi SS father.
