COLUMBUS (WCMH) - It’s being called the first program of its kind in Ohio, fighting against the opiate epidemic.

The Licking County Health Department is combining the internet and medicine to potentially help save lives and reduce stigmas. With the help of a state grant, it bought 350 naloxone kits. Starting in January, you can get one delivered to your door and learn how to use it online. It’s free for Licking County residents.

“We were pleased last year that the overdose deaths dropped, but unfortunately this year they’ve crept back up again,” said Licking Co. Health Commissioner Joe Ebel.

He said so far this year 26 people have died from an opiate overdose in the county, up from 18 last year.

Do they deliver those shots for peanut allergy to your door too? Didn’t think so. Let the drug addicts stay doped up...gotta keep them that way for the lifelong dem vote.

Why not ensure they have a good supply of oxy beforehand so the kits are not misused, or sold.

Forgot about those, they are pricey.....it is horrible. It is the dumbing down of the masses for total control of the masses. Makes me ill.

Gotta keep them alive and kill us off, it is the global plan.

The opioid epidemic will pass when all the junkies kill themselves.

Government will have nothing to do with it. In fact, there’s an argument to be made that Government has caused or contributed to it.

The most permanent cure for opiate and other drug abuse is to eliminate the market, the producer and the seller.

Could be easily done with a mandatory death sentence for users, growers and pushers.

Now I know this will never happen. And anything realistic that will stop drug trafficking will never happen as illegal drugs are just as much a part of the American fabric as alcohol and tobacco.

A big problem in the opiate addiction is the distribution of black tar heroin by dealers from Mexico. It is far more potent than the cartel’s brown heroin, and some say it is the most addictive drug. The dealers are targeting school children and vulnerable and making home deliveries. Ohio has been hard hit by black tar heroin dealers.

The most permanent cure for alcohol abuse is to eliminate the market, the producer and the seller. Could be easily done with a mandatory death sentence for brewers, distillers, users, 7-11s and Total Wine.

Its for the chilren. If we can save one victim its all worth it.

The most “free” cure for drug abuse is to allow drug abusers to suffer the natural consequences of their actions. I mean “free” in terms of liberty as well as money.

Instead of worrying about what substances others are using and preventing them from using them, you should be focusing your efforts into making sure their drug use does not affect YOU.

The modern day laws against theft are based on Judeo Christian philosophy and specifically the 8th commandment. The modern day laws against drug use are based on the 19th century Marxist philosophy and specifically the idea that society has a responsibility to mitigating the natural negative consequences of the bad choices that the people make.
