Women are partly to blame for showbiz sex scandal, says Sir Ian McKellen: Star claims some[tr]

Stage and screen star Sir Ian McKellen has spoken out about the sex scandal in film and theatre, claiming women are partly responsible because some tell directors they'll sleep with them to win roles.

'People must be called out and it's sometimes very difficult for victims to do that,' the Lord Of The Rings star said in a talk at the Oxford Union recently.

'I hope we're going through a period that will help to eradicate it altogether. But from my own experience, when I was starting acting in the early Sixties, the director of the theatre I was working at showed me some photographs he got from women who were wanting jobs. . . some of them had at the bottom of their photograph 'DRR' — directors' rights respected. In other words, if you give me a job, you can have sex with me.

'That was commonplace from people who proposed that they should be a victim. Madness. People have taken advantage of that and encouraged it and it absolutely will not do.'

Despite his support for victims coming forward, the six-time Olivier Award-winner, 78, admitted he's worried about the impact of wrongful accusations, adding: 'I assume nothing but good will come out of these revelations, even though some people get wrongly accused — there's that side of it as well.'

What would this creep know about women, marriage or the sex harassment of women? I can only imagine the skeletons in this guy’s closet. He was one of the worst of gay “outers” in the late 80s and 90s.

In olden days, when someone joined the stage, they brought shame to the family. It’s always been a perv infested industry.

The ones accused are guilty.

Actors have been sleeping with each other forever to get er... parts. Some big and some small...

Google an actors name then dated to see who’s dated who and you will see how they are er popular.

Sir Ian’s theory is laughable....when he got knighted, the sword-wielding Queen musta severed part of his brain.

Let me help you with that Ian———we’re no talking about starlets who WILLINGLY sleep with producers/directors/whatever.

The cases under discussion are about FORCED sexual assaults....women who told the assaulters they DID NOT WANT to have sex with them.

The men then forced them into it.....Russell Simmons, Bill Clinton Harvey Weinstein, to name a few. One woman was asleep when perverted Al Franken cupped her breasts.

Get it, Ian?

My personal guess is that at least 90% of the women in Hollywood have used sex as a career advancement strategy.

The feminist movement has been touting female sexual power over men for decades as their right to do whatever the hell they want with their bodies.

F’ing hypocrites and liars.

Likely it is just cover and finger-pointing and excuses for his own potential sexual indiscretions at work.

“they wanted it!”

I’d suspect there might even be more who were not only open to advances but were making the advances themselves. Look at some of the dresses on the red carpet - it’s not difficult to see what they’re selling.

I am really surprised that more male actors have not come forward under the #MeToo meme.

I guess they are more embarrassed than the women are and will keep their secrets for another day.....................

Very few on either side of the camera in Hollywood have any morals. If most actors or actresses thought they could get a part by sleeping with someone they’d be naked on the casting couch in the blink of an eye.

Harvey Weinstein’s wife made some of the red carpet dresses and ge forced actresses to wear them if they wanted work in Hollywood. So convenient that his ‘ex’wife now expresses dusgust at his behavior.

The idea that all these women are pure innocent victims is totally disingenuous.

Women have been using their sex to manipulate men forever. What’s new today is their claim to victimhood after doing so.

What’s happening today is not so much a return to puritanism as a war on men and masculinity.

Feminazis want the freedom to act like sluts without the consequences. In other words they want men’s natural instinct to be totally caged while they should be free to act and parade in front of them provocatively.

Nowhere in today’s discussions is there any suggestions that women should bear any responsibility for what’s going on and dress and behave more modestly. The onus is all on men’s “toxic masculinity” and none on women’s “sluttissness”

It’s like putting all the blame on the lion that ends up eating the guy walking around the savanna with a hunk of bloody meat on his back.

Yeah exactly. There are many talented actresses who never made it because they refused the casting couch and nude scenes/love scenes. Most of them can’t make it beyond network television.

Ashley “I’m a nasty woman” Judd wasn’t quite so nasty to Harvey Weinstein’s advances when she knew a starring role was on the line.

When Ashley "Slutgirl" Judd was bashing President Trump at the Women's March on January 21, 2017, Harvey Weinstein was in the crowd.

Wonder if ol' Harv got a quick "hummer" backstage from Ashley after her speechifyin'?

Later after I graduated and he was teaching at another university at another state of which I was now a practice owner he mentioned that “let by gones be by gones”. Yea, he did because the shoe was on the other foot. I let it go.

Sociopaths only understand the boot to the head.

You should have curb-stomped him professionally to protect his future victims.

Brave of him to say that. I’m not a fan but I met him in October. He sat down with me while a couple of his avid fans were waiting for autographs. He was so pleasant to talk with that I was very impressed.

Says the queer. Of course we know gays never ever are involved in sexual harassment. As a matter of fact I'm 100% positive that Sir Ian has never in his life sexually harassed a biological woman.
