I’ve always wondered why this doesn’t take out similar closed communities (schools, etc). Why only on the cruise ships?

More often it’s “I paid a bunch for this cruise, I’m not staying in my room.” But, FWIW, most times the initial case doesn’t come from the cruise line but is brought on board by an embarking passenger. People also lie at embarkation when asked if they have any illnesses. Don’t want to be denied boarding.
Probably norovirus.
They all had the fish.

Just came back from 7 day cruise on Royal Caribbean’s largest ship, Oasis of the Seas. Had zero problems with anything, including food. This cruise from Port Canaveral was sold out with 6000 passengers! The ice dancing show was so good, we saw it twice. But skipped the ride on the wire rope 10 stories high above floor. All for $1050 plus tips for 2 people.
Did they have the steak or the fish?
Cases of mass food poisoning became commonplace when GW Bush came along with his illegal alien coddling administration.
Passengers who did not get sick will be jumping on the upcoming class action lawsuit. In these cases many of those who get sick are actually suffering from close quarters hysteria. It’s all in their heads.
Cubans.
They’ve got this ray machine thing that they point at the ships and it gives people The Fidel Farts and The Raul Runs.

There are many millions of cases of norovirus in USA every year. Very contagious because it survives on surfaces in the air for hours. Very preventable with regular hand washing, simple soap and water works as well as the specialized sanitizers for noro. Often 3 days of barfing and diahrea, I guess only dangerous if you dehydrate. One sick guy boards a ship and gives it to dozens
Reminds me of a Noro epidemic along the Appalachian trail last year. Several trail shelters were closed for a couple of weeks due to hikers projectile vomiting all over the place.
Might be a buying opp in a few days though.....
Many years ago...Jack-in-the-Box..had an E-Coli out break...I think it was Washington state..A couple days after that....I bought the stock. Was a good trade...
We shall see about RCL..............
Why do people go on these cruises? They seem like stomach virus tin cans. What is fun about it? Maybe during the summer but during virus season, all you hear about is how deathly sick they all were.
