The series, which will air in 10-minute episodes on MGM's digital platform "Stargate Command," will be released sometime in 2018. A new video showing highlights from the filming shows the cast and crew working in locations ranging from dunes to warehouses.
...
Fan favorite Catherine Langford (played by Ellie Gall in the new series) makes a prominent return in the new series. The video shows her standing in awe before a stargate and taking part in fight scenes....
"In this revealing footage, we get an in-depth look at some of the stunning real-life locations where filming took place, meeting new faces and set pieces along the way," the description on YouTube reads. "From sweeping dunes to rocky cliffs, these locations proved challenging to shoot in, but as we think you'll all agree, the end result was 100 percent worth it."

Glad another Freeper other than myself liked Destiny. Most Stargate fans here seemed to hate it.
By the way, the actress who played the Senator’s daughter had a small and very different kind of role in the final season of Orphan Black. I almost didn’t even recognize her.
Yup
I loved Stargate - movies and series.
This lost me in the first sentence:
1. Digital Platform - something else I gotta subscribe to? Give me a break.
2. 10 minute episodes - Really? That’s a long commercial.
3. MGM - That entertainment powerhouse?
I’ll give it as much attention as I have the new Star Trek series...zero.
I liked Star Gate with Richard Dean Anderson (of McGyver fame), but not the later ones not so much.

So many good story lines in that one. Most fun episode, when the lightning hit the stargate and they kept dying and repeating. The little bug things in the mud tubes....
I liked Stargate Atlantis. Lots of space battles and techno wonk exploring the city.
Probably my favorites, too. STNG where Picard is captured, “There are four lights!” and a regular military type takes over the Enterprise and tells Troy to get into something appropriate. Or the battle scene where a future Riker commands his own warship at the temporal breach.
aliens who also were almost always humanoid.
10 minute episodes? Sounds more like an infomercial than a TV series ... blink and you missed it. Or is it 10 minute show and 50 minutes of commercials? Terrible format.
Sounds about right...10 minutes of programming and 50 minutes of commercials.
That sounds just like Douglas Adams Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy... the Babelfish translators that lived in ears & translates intergalactic languages...
Hope they give a sufficient lead time so that I can reactivate my huge standing order of anti-boredom pills...
Excellent story concept...Horrific writing...Pathetic so-called actors...IMHO, worst all time modern SciFi series...
We enjoyed much of Stargate, the movies, the original series, Atlantis, and less, Universe. Too bad the latter died but it was darker, almost a Lost-like version. Will be curious to see what they make of this. Star Trek did well visiting the younger James Kirk, Star Wars as well. These are all great franchises.
Speaking is better than having to try to read subtitles.
Reading subtitles, you miss the action/activity on the screen.
Too many place subtitles in differing locations, so by the time the eyes find it, the scene is over.
Too many place light subtitle text on light background, so you can’t even read a lot of it.
Speak English — we know it is a movie or TV show.
If I have to read subtitles, I might as well read the book rather than try to watch TV.
10 minutes of attention is stretching it for the potheaded millenials. Eventually the filmmakers will need to reduce those episodes to three minutes, which is about as long as the millenials last in bed! :)
“So many good story lines in that one. Most fun episode, when the lightning hit the stargate and they kept dying and repeating. The little bug things in the mud tubes..”
One of my favorites. A real Groundhog Day.
The guy trying to get the Ancients time machine to work so he could be with his dead wife again.
All of Stargate Command is thrown into a repeating loop.
Every loop started with RDA being asked the same question while eating oatmeal and T’ealc getting hit in the face by a door.
Using the Stargate as a driving range was funny. “Not on my backswing!”
The first season was kind of up and down story quality wise but that was pretty settled by the second season.
I loved the Valla Maldoran character played by Claudia Black.
A real rascal.
For many years I ignored everything Stargate and then one night I was bored and played Stargate Universe episode 1 on Netflix I think it was. Boy, was I hooked; what a great series. Too bad they never renewed for a second season.
Crusade is in the running for that dubious distinction.
