FOX SPORTS BUDGET CUTS COULD AFFECT SUPER BOWL PLANS FOR SKIP BAYLESS, OTHER FS1 STARS
Sporting News ^ | December 11, 2017 | Michael McCarthy

The NFL's two-year TV downturn is taking a bite out of broadcast TV partners like Fox Sports that fork over billions for rights to live games.

Fox Sports staffers in Los Angeles are bracing for a wave of possible budget cutbacks due to disappointing NFL advertising sales this season, sources tell Sporting News. Another important factor: With Team USA eliminated from the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Fox can't count on soccer ad dollars next year to get well from an ad standpoint.

I should have qualified. As someone else said on another thread, they think they don’t need us anymore but we are the core of their support. They may survive without the conservative backbone, but they will never thrive.

The Last one was the first time I hadn’t watched a Super Bowl in decades.
Looks like 2017 -18 Super Bowl I won’t watch again.

What did the NFL do to recently help this along? They gave a new multi year contract to Commissioner Roger Goodell. They just st don’t give a $h!t about me and America. So they can get their money elsewhere

Yes, but I was wondering why “only” a 20% decline in viewership, and the other commenter said it was because of so many leftists. I’m simply saying I don’t think the other 80% of NFL fans (as of 2015) were all “leftists” (except perhaps in a loose sense of “not truly conservative”). Let’s face it, a great many tens of millions of Americans don’t really know or care all that much about political issues. I wish the NFL viewership and attendance had crashed to nothing right away, but obviously there are many millions who are not engaged in the #NFLboycott.

Still, as another comment indicated, even a 20% drop is enormous because it smashes the profit margins planned for the size of the contracts that were committed to by the networks.

NFL? Not f..... Looking. I hope they starve. $200M for the Commissioner is total insanity. Let them eat cake.

Here’s another dirty secret.....YouTube. Almost any game is streamed on YouTube, you can watch without having any cable, and they won’t count it against the ratings.

I hope they have so much trouble selling SB ads that it’s 100% MyPillow and Life Alert or other infomercials.

Or maybe they can completely kill off viewers by selling the SB ads to "1-800 Cars for Kids" and the iPad Pro commercial where that insufferable kid says "what's a computer"?

especially after that fight by the SeaChickens on TV. Someone told me it was like watching an episode of Cops.

Or the WWE

Actually the NF’nL needs the Life Alert commercial. Every time one of the players takes a knee they should play that commercial.

Help I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.

100% MyPillow

Mike Lindell is a great story. Alcoholic, Cocaine and Crack addict gave his life to Christ and turned it all around.

“To save money, Fox likely will not send Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and other FS1 stars on location in Minnesota”

if true, that’s some serious cheap on display; after all, how much could it cost to send them and a crew to cover the superbowl in Minnesota?
